Chinese New Year 2016 marks the Year of the Rooster.  Roosters have five virtues: literary, military prowess, courageous, benevolent, and trustworthy. According to the Chinese calendar, the year 2017 is the year of the Fire Rooster. The Chinese people say that this year people will be more polite and less stubborn.

 Commonly spoken as “Lou Sang”, Yee Sang is one of the traditional dishes savoured during the festival which is symbolic of good luck, prosperity, health and all things auspicious. This year, our Chinese Culinary Team lead by Chef Chew Nee San prepares special selections of  Yee Sang’s ingredients like  Abalone, Jelly Fish &  Smoked Salmon for the guests to choose according to their liking. Yee Sang is priced at RM 350nett per plate for 10 persons.

One of the most unique traditions of the Chinese New Year is the Lion Dance, a legendary ritual that is performed each New Year to frighten away evil spirits and bring luck for the coming year. This year, the acrobatic and energetic performance will be held at the hotel’s courtyard - Taman Mahsuri on the second week of Lunar New Year.
