KUALA LUMPUR HONOURED AT THE TOP ASIA CORPORATE BALL 2017
The Top Asia Corporate Ball 2017 organized by Top 10 of Malaysia and Top 10 of Asia Initiative (a Kuala Lumpur based research and media organization) played host to some 900 distinguished CEOs, business owners and personalities from across Malaysia and Asia. The Corporate Ball was a culmination of the Initiative’s celebration of the achievements of towering personalities, corporations and even countries in Asia.
The event saw the presentation of recognitions to outstanding and inspiring achievers from diverse cultures, industries and personalities. Top 10 unveiled the best of the best which showcased inspiring stories of achievements that help to spur many others on to strive for success in their own field of endeavor.
During the Corporate Ball, seven countries were given recognitions based on the results of recent Top 10 surveys for the categories of: Asia’s Most Admirable Fastest Growing Economy (won by Philippines), Asia’s Best Nation for Culinary Tourism (won by Japan), Asia’s Fastest Growing Nation for Manufacturing (won by Bangladesh), Asia’s Top Nation with Natural Wonders (won by Indonesia), Asia’s Top Country with Most Number of Beautiful Ancient Architectural Monuments (won by Uzbekistan) and Asia’s Nation with Most Promising Growing Economy (won by Laos).
Kuala Lumpur bagged the Asia’s Most Liveable City Award for affordability, modernity, culture and friendliness.
The Asia’s Most Liveable City Award was received by Iskandar Mirza Mohd Yusof, Director, Tourism Malaysia on behalf of Tourism and Culture Ministry Malaysia.
The award was given out based on the result of a research survey conducted by Top 10 under the criteria related to culture, modernity, affordability and friendliness and Malaysia was ranked first among 10 shortlisted countries. Among the entertainers who received recognitions during the Ball were Datuk M Nasir, Francissca Peter, Ziana Zain, Datuk Awie, Reshmonu (Malaysia Music Legend Award), Douglas Lim (Top 10 of Asia Comedian Award) and Lisa Surihani (Top 10 of Malaysia Actress Award. There were also three individuals who bagged the highest recognitions and they are Tan Sri Kong Hon Kong (Asian Entrepreneur Award), Tan Sri AK Nathan (Asian Icon Award - Master Builder), and Aswin Techajareonvikul (Asian Icon Award – World Class Entrepreneur), the Chief Executive Officer and President of Berli Jucker Public Co. Ltd., one of the biggest conglomerates in Thailand. Datuk Nicol David, twice ranked in Top 10 publications for Top 10 Inspiring Women in Malaysia and Top 10 Sports Legend in Asia received the Asia Sports Legend Award.
Raja Teh Maimunah, CEO of AmInvestment Bank Berhad received the Top 10 Women in Finance Institutions (Malaysia) Award. Present at the star-studded dinner event were YM Tunku Mudzaffar Tunku Mustapha, Y.A.M. Tunku Dara Tunku Tan Sri Naquiah Binti Almarhum Tuanku Ja'afar, Tan Sri Yahaya Ibrahim, Chairman of RHA Media, Dato’ R. Rajendran, CEO of RHA Media and Lee Seng Chee, Managing Editor of the publications.
CEO of RHA Media Dato’ Rajendran who said that the rankings by Top 10 publications unveil the best of the best which will inevitably showcase inspiring stories of achievements that encourage others to strive for success in their own field of endeavor. “Today, inspiring good role models from around the Asian region are needed more than ever before in every arena of life and I believe that the likes of them should be made known far and wide. The very essence of Asian life and its awesome magnificence in all its diversity ought to be highlighted much.”
The Top Asia Corporate Ball 2017 is supported by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia and sponsored by Exim Bank Malaysia, MRCB and Amee Philips. BMW Auto Bavaria is the partner of the event. Some 100 Who’s Who personalities from Asia together with 30 dignitaries (Ambassadors and High Commissioners) attended the dinner While the event provided a meaningful platform for business and social networking opportunities, creating substantial and significant potential benefits for all guests, the Ball made a contribution to various charity organizations and causes namely World Vision Malaysia, Make-A-Wish Malaysia and CSR Malaysia.
