PART 1---DINNER IN THE SKY WITH HILTON KL AS KUALA LUMPUR'S FINEST HOTEL CELEBRATES THE HIGH LIFE WITH VIP GUESTS.

WHEN VISIONARY EVENT PLANNING, DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT COMPANY CALLED 2SPICY ENTERTAINMENT BROUGHT THE BELGIAN FRANCHISE 'DINNER IN THE SKY' TO KUALA LUMPUR, THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT WAS THE FOOD.

After all, it is not called 'Dinner in the Sky' for nothing as it is not 'Fastfood in the Sky' or 'Bring your own Food in the Sky'.

So who should they turn to but Hilton Kuala Lumpur, the best hotel in town whose cuisine is maintained at world class standards. Indeed Chef Marc Fery's new menus at Chambers Bar & Grill and GRAZE are the talk of town.

But why eat in a normal restaurant (glamorous and posh as GRAZE and Chambers are) when you can dine 150 feet high in the sky?

With no walls, no floors and no where to run as you are safely and securely strapped to your seat!

Yessiree, 'Dinner in the Sky' literally takes fine dining to elevated new heights and which hotel can fit the bill but Hilton KL?

At RM 600 (it's RM 599 but I find that so irritating as it pathetically tries to give the impression it is RM 500 but richies like me always tip the RM 1 to the company) the food had better be good and it is!

Alas, all seats were sold within 48 hours but there is talk about extending this sky-high dining experience since the organisers told me the waiting list is 21,000! I find this hard to believe as we should be poverty stricken now that US$1 is RM 4 but there are still heaps of cash-rich Malaysians!

As it is, Hilton KL hosted 6 guests to the self same dinner at GRAZE while dessert would be 150 feet up in the air in the garden of Menara KL!

Since you ask, there is no loo 150 feet high in the sky and peeing from your suspended chair is forbidden so you must wee and pee before embarking on your 'flight'! I went to the loo twice and did not drink in the marquee.

Guests are only suspended in the sky for 1 hour so you should be able to control your bladder. There are 3 to 5 meals per night depending on the vagaries of the weather. If it rains Persian pussies and French poodles (cats and dogs in plain English) there is no take-off as diners might be struck and fried by lightning. In which case you will continue your meal on terra firma ('on the ground' in plain English) inside the marquee with no refund so I prayed to Jesus Christ and Mother Mary for non-inclement weather and wore a big cross to guarantee the crane would not break and smash us onto the ground in a heap of mangled bodies.

As usual God granted my prayers since I am a living divinity myself with direct access to the Almighty and enjoyed my sky high jaunt to the max!

Well and truly worth every sen. Join the 21,000 queue!
