WHO WILL BE MISS MALAYSIA WORLD 2016?

The finalists for Miss Malaysia World 2016 have been selected and are all geared up to win the chance to become the next Miss World famous beauty queen. 21 girls have been chosen to take part in this glamorous and prestigious pageant in Malaysia established in United Kingdom 65 years ago. One of the longest and most established pageant in the whole world with 125 countries participation.

“As always, I am very excited with this year’s finalists. They are all smart and beautiful girls, and it's a pleasure to watch them blossom into charming, elegant and gracious ladies through participation in this pageant,” said Dato’ Anna Lim, the official pageant organiser, licensee and National Director of Miss Malaysia World 2016.

The interview sessions were conducted in the UK and Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur to determine the finalists for this year’s pageant. 

They were selected based on strict criteria including self-confidence, stage presence, personality and ability to represent the pageant theme, “Beauty with a Purpose.” 

Dato’ Anna Lim, who was Miss Malaysia Universe 1990 and Mrs Malaysia World 2004, was involved in selecting the finalists, lending her experience and knowledge on what it takes to be a successful beauty queen.

Pageant week will start on 20 till 27 August 2016 when the finalists will check into Corus Hotel. They will go through a training programme to learn different skills such as personal grooming, catwalk, styling, public speaking, business & social etiquette, presentation on stage and camera, yoga, dance, motivation training as well as visiting charity homes. 

A team of carefully selected professionals will guide the contestants during this training period to prepare them for the Grand Final on the 27 August 2016 (Saturday) at Corus Hotel Crystal Ballroom .

A panel of distinguished judges consisting of notable personalities in Malaysia has been put together to determine the most worthy of the finalists. We will see 12 subsidiary titles being awarded:Miss Photogenic, Miss Personality Corus Hotels, Miss Social Media Queen, Miss Talent, Miss Metrojaya, Miss Elegance, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Wacoal, Miss Fitness, Miss Natural Beauty,  Miss Popular & Miss Galaxy TTT Group Tourism Queen.

On this same night, there will be a swimsuit competition and evening gown round to select the final five. After a final Q&A session, the winner of Miss Malaysia World 2016 will be crowned.

Said Dato Anna Lim, "This night will also be very special, as we have Miss World 2015 talent 2nd placement & current Miss Malayaia World 2015 Brynn Lovett performing the incredible acrobatic talent dance with her twin sister Tracey Lovett.

"The young lady who wins the title this year will also win cash and prizes worth RM50,000. More importantly, she will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to represent Malaysia on the international stage at the Miss World 2016 pageant.

"There, she will be among beauty queens from all over the world to compete to bring home the coveted title and crown.

“Miss World 2016 has very high standards, and I am committed to uphold those standards,” said Dato’ Anna Lim. “Winning the title of Miss Malaysia World 2016 will not be an easy task for any of the finalists, as everyone is a worthy opponent in their own right. 

"They will each need to convince our panel of respected judges why they deserve the crown, and how they are able to embrace what the pageant really stands for – Beauty with a Purpose' a charity to help underprivileged children of the world. 

"This year we have an outstanding company Galaxy TTT group who is our presenter and will allow previous winners, finalists and all sponsors of Miss Malaysia World from year 2013-2016 to participate in competitions with prizes of USD80,000.00 (Eighty thousand USD dollars).
