Presented by Mon Space, the Amber Chia Academy (ACA) celebrated its
sixth annual graduation show in spectacular fashion at the IOI City Mall in
Putrajaya, where over a hundred students graduated from a variety of courses
offered by the fashion and beauty school - namely modelling, kids modelling,
makeup, hair accessories styling, nail art, and also photography.
In a festive celebration of colours befitting the seasons of spring
and summer, which was emceed by ACA alumna Amelia Henderson, the modelling
graduates (many of which were making their runway debuts) paraded apparels by
YFS Concept Store as well as AD Jeans, while the kids were decked in Poney.
The
makeup, hair accessories, and nail art, graduates, on the other hand, offered a
captivating display of their crafts, creatively exploring the concept of
colours.
To cap it off, their teachers - Makeup Guru Desmond Yoi, Makeup Coach Pinky Chia, and Nail Art Coach Yannie Wong, combined forces to produce an impressive warrior angel inspired masterpiece to culminate the presentation.

ACA is famed for training and producing winners, and this past year
was no less different. Alumni Janice Choong, June Yap, and Kiran Jassal, were
crowned Miss Astro Chinese International 2015, Mrs. Borneo World 2016, and Miss
Universe Malaysia 2016, respectively; kid model Lauren Campbell won Lil’ Tot
Globe of Asia 2016, and kid model Houson Ng went on to become a star actor; and
model Kate Chan was named Face of Malaysia 2016 recently.
Former makeup graduate Susu Ngo was also honoured as the winner of the APHCA Nation Hair & Makeup Competition in 2015.

At this years graduation show, a horde of former graduates such as
Chloe Chen (Miss World Malaysia 2011), Soo Xu-Ze (Asia New Face Model Malaysia
2011), Ken Chung (Manhunt Malaysia 2014), James Ng (Mr. International 2014) and
Josh Ho (Asia New Star Model Malaysia 2012), just to mention a few, also came
back in full force in appreciation of their alma mater.
“Our winners will
always be the greatest pride for Amber Chia Academy. We’re very proud of their
achievements, and we are working hard to groom and provide a platform for more
potential winners and talents,” shared ACA principal and top model Amber Chia.
In line with this, ACA recently introduced several short courses,
categorised as the Celebrity Series, where professionals who have became stars
of their respective industries are invited to instruct and share about their
expertise. There is the Acting Kids course featuring director/producer Low Ngai
Yuen, director/actor Jason Lim, kid actor Sawyer Leong, as well as kid
actresses Amelia Lee and Annelise Chan.
Additionally, the Social Media course
has social media experts Prashan Chitty and Christopher Tock, and also online
sensation Leng Yein, as guest speakers.
On top of that, the English Emcee
course is helmed by television host Amelia Henderson, professional emcee Ben
Ibrahim, and celebrity host Sazzy Falak; whereas the Chinese Emcee course is
taught by emcees Eva Lian, KK Wong, as well as actor Goh Wee Ping.
As a conclusion to the graduation show, which was witnessed by the
honourable Dato’ Jimmy Choo who was in attendance as a special guest, the top
achievers who have demonstrated promising potential were rewarded accordingly:
