Modern Meets
Thai: The New Rama V
The first Rama
V opened two decades ago, as the first Thai fine dining restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.
Hidden away from KL’s hustle and bustle set within a stand-alone bungalow, the award-winning
restaurant is known for welcoming diners in an opulent and cosy ambience combined
with an air of tranquillity and commendable hospitality.
After 20 years
since its inception, Rama V had politely declined reservation seekers and
temporarily halted its operations from March 2016 to make way for a makeover. Upon
re-opening its doors in May, Rama V showcases a teaser of the new
look and at the same time introduces a newly revamped identity.
The makeover
was coined from the idea of ‘Modern Meets Thai’, where the tradition of Thai meets the elegance of modern
world.
The refurbishment
still encompasses everything Rama V embodies —timeless, customisable with
innovative fine Thai cuisine — while delivering it in a more vibrant and
modern atmosphere.
The new look of the restaurant echoes
the food: mixing the classic with the contemporary.
Once through the main
glass door, you will be greeted by a spacious room with dark wood interiors,
elusive pastel coloured sofas complemented by subtle Thai cultural iconography
decors and dimmed lighting.
Additionally, the makeover welcomes a full-fledged
polished bar and lounge area where diners can sit back, relax or have business
talks over drinks.
The fanciful space is also one of the
key features of the makeover. Keep a look out for food and beverage, live music
and lifestyle events being organised here!
With the flexible space too, it will
be the pick as the space for your next special events – be it intimate dinners,
cocktail parties, weddings or corporate events.
The focus for
food and beverage then and today remains the same: serving you gastronomical
and enjoyable culinary journeys with authentic and contemporary Thai dishes.
Amongst the reasons of why Rama V is still standing strong for 21 years and
counting till today - Rama V strives to be relevant by constantly
revolutionising to fit diners’ evolving tastes without straying too far from
the authenticity of the original dishes.
All in all,
the new Rama V is a venue that is more than Thai fine dining, it is the restaurant that will always leave
you fond memories…
