“As always, I am very excited with this year’s finalists. They are all smart and beautiful mothers, and it’s always a pleasure to watch them blossom into charming and elegant mothers through their participation in this pageant,” said Sharon Too, the official pageant licensee and National Director of Mrs. Malaysia World 2017.

On 18^th of March, a official audition was conducted at Fidella International Head Office to unveil the finalists for this year’s pageant. They were selected based on a number of strict criteria, including their self-confidence and presence, their personalities, as well as their ability to represent the pageant theme, “Woman to Embrace Their Own Uniqueness.”

Sharon Too, who was the national director of Mrs. Malaysia World since year 2014, was personally involved in the selection of the finalists, lending her experience and knowledge on what it takes to be a successful beauty queen.

The pageant started on 1st^th Of April till 31^st of August, when the finalists from the different states of Malaysia went through a training program, during which they learned many different skills, such personal grooming, catwalk, styling and personal enrichment. A team of carefully selected professionals guided the contestants during this training period to prepare them for the Grand Finals.

Despite awarding 3 main titles, there was only one Awards Night--- the Grand Finals Night on 7^th September 2017. A panel of distinguished judges consisting of notable personalities in Malaysia determined the most worthy of the finalists. 

On this same night were the magnificent and visually eye catching  traditional wear competition, talent competition and elegant evening gown segments. After a final Q&A session, the winner of Mrs. Malaysia World 2017 and Mrs. Borneo World 2017 were crowned and will represent Malaysia at the Mrs World finals in December in Johannesburg, South Africa later this year. Mrs World is the original and first beauty pageant for married women for the past 40 years.

The winners of Mrs. Malaysia World 2017 and Mrs. Borneo World 2017 won prizes worth RM30,000.

“Mrs. Malaysia World and Mrs. Borneo World 2017 have very high standards and I am committed to uphold those standards,” said Sharon Too. 

“Winning the title of Mrs. Malaysia World and Mrs. Borneo World 2017 was not an easy task as everyone is a worthy winner in their own right. They had to convince our panel of respected judges why they deserved the crown and how they could personify what the pageant really stands for – Woman to Embrace Their Own Uniqueness.”
