It is a genuine form of “Thainess” towards
sustainable tourism. The campaign is launched to the Malaysian visitors on 2nd May 2018 at
Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel.
It was attended by major travel agents, media and invited guests.
Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, leads the Thai tourism team and presides over the event.
He
outlines the wide variety of tourism concepts to attract Malaysian visitors, namely: Gastronomy, Art
and Craft, Nature and Beach, Thai Culture, and Way of Life.
“This year Thailand is reaching 36 million visitor arrivals. The number of Malaysian visitors to
Thailand is ranked no. 2 after China. We have long-established good relationship between two
countries.
"It is also very convenient to travel to Thailand both by land transport and by flying, with
several flights from many cities in Malaysia to Thailand. TAT constantly works with partners and tour
operators to present this new marketing concept to Malaysian visitors and generate substantial sales
targeted at specific customer segments; such as, lady travelers, luxury travelers, weddings and
honeymooners, and families.
"As Malaysian visitors visit Thailand in large number every year, this
new shades concept will offer new perspectives in travelling for Malaysians to experience. Apart
from major cities such as Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket, there are also secondary cities in Thailand
awaiting tourists to revisit the Kingdom, namely Mae Hong Son and Yala (Betong).
"For visitors who
want to experience something different, community tourism in Thailand has many provinces to
welcome you with authentic Thai way of living, such as Ko Klang in Krabi, Ko Kret near Bangkok,
Thale Noi in Phatthalung and Ban Bang Phlap in Samut Songkhram”, TAT Governor said.
The gala dinner is featured with Thai cultural performances, Thai boxing demo, and award
presentation for media and travel agents in Malaysia.
Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor
for Marketing Communication gives tourism product presentation on the Open to the New Shades
concept, which is about asking visitors to “open” their minds and hearts to deepen and widen their
experiences into a new perception of attractions and variety of experiences in Thailand.
“Open to the New Shades campaign will introduce brand-new products to Malaysian visitors, or
expose a new charming character of well-known destinations through creativity. This campaign is
aimed at attracting more repeat visitors and also first-time visitors.
"New perspectives in existing
attractions are waiting to be discovered and visitors will also be able to indulge in experiences in
new tourist attractions”, Deputy Governor added.
In this event, there are arts & crafts products showcases featured with demonstrations of Thai
culture and way of living such as the painting umbrella, fruit carving and many more.
As Thailand’s
distinctive cuisine is second to none, guests are served with authentic Thai gastronomy created by
Thai Celebrity Chef Chumpol Chaengprai during gala dinner and enjoy tasting Thai food from 4
regions, which has own signature styles.
Last but not least, guests also enjoy live performances by
special guests, Mr. Koh Saxman a famous Thai saxophonist , Thai Boxing demonstration by Muay
Thai Superstar Buakaw Bunchamek with professional boxers, and Thai cultural dance performance.
