The official grand opening of ART IPOH 2019 was held at Tin Alley on 17th August 2019, 7pm.

ART IPOH 2019 organised by Tin Alley Curated Space, leaded by artistic director cum curator the artist Phillip Wong. Sponsored by Bukit Merah Wood Products, in collaboration with Artist-In-Residence Ipoh, The Happy 8-Pasir Putih, Sepetang & Ipoh, Perak and Yuk Choy High School Ipoh. Supported by National Art Gallery Malaysia.

ART IPOH 2019 with the objective, Preserving Our Heritage and Recognising the Importance of Arts & Culture, shall be the first & largest art exhibition in Ipoh majoring in installation art.

Featuring 18 Malaysian artists Aizat Amir, Azhar Kamaruddin, Cheong Min Zhe, Francis Jofeel Goh, Iron Loi, Kamil Shafie, Lydia Chew, Marcus Lim, Phillip Wong, Rorn Lew, Samuel Lim, Sharon Ong, Sivarajah Natarajan, Tan Vooi Yam, Tan Char Lyne, Tasha Ong, Ng Sook Peng & Zoe Wu are by invitation who come from Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Batu Gajah, Tambun, Taiping, Seremban, Johor, Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur. 

In different field of creative industry such as architect, interior design, graphic design, fashion design, illustration, performing art, plantation and fine art. They are renowned, awarded senior & young artists.

In collaboration with Yuk Choy High School Ipoh to have their students to be part of the ART IPOH as an art platform to spark the creativity mind for young generation. 

Art is for everyone and it is good for our future generation in art education and in life.

ART IPOH 2019 is part of the artist-in-residence program. Artists are working on their creation based on their own artistic theme by inspiration after visited old town in Ipoh, installation space & brainstorming. All materials are provided and artist will work from their own studio and at Bukit Merah Wood factory.

All creation will be showing at 30 locations indoor & outdoor along the area of Tin Alley (Lorong Bijeh Timah Ipoh). Sizes of location from 50sqf to 1100sqf for each installation. In conjunction of ART IPOH, Tin Alley will be setting up an art gallery as a platform of art for now & future.
