PARIS IS GREAT ANYTIME OF YEAR BUT SPRING AND SUMMER ARE MY FAVOURITE TIME OF YEAR.

Now that Mandarin Oriental Paris is open, there is another incentive to visit the City of Lights. The courtyard garden is the new hotspot and wateringhole in Paris and enjoying afternoon inside the birdcage is something to write home about.

A luxurious meal or afternoon tea in the birdcage is worth writing home to Mum!

A stay here is the last word in luxury as 1 night costs around RM 4,000 though I saw offers on the Internet for RM 3,200! But this is Mandarin Oriental hotel OK, the best hotel chain in entire universe and at least you can boast of staying in the most expensive hotel in Paris which boasts a mere 138 rooms and 39 suites.

MANDARIN ORIENTAL, PARIS OPENS ITS DELIGHTFUL GARDEN FOR THE SUMMER

Mandarin Oriental, Paris is delighted to announce that its stunning courtyard garden is open for the summer season. Providing one of the most charming green spaces within the city for guests and locals to dine, enjoy cocktails and socialise, the courtyard garden is now open daily from 11am – 2am.

Mandarin Oriental, Paris’s landscaped garden provides an ideal location and space to enjoy  dining menus from both Bar 8, the hotel’s intimate bar which serves an exclusive ‘Street Marx’ menu by Chef Thierry Marx, and Camélia, Mandarin Oriental, Paris’ all-day dining restaurant, with French cuisine that is influenced by Chef Marx’s love and knowledge of Asia.

Guests can experience delicious dishes within the garden from Camélia’s new summer menu which includes: ‘Daikon wrapped crab, shrimp and green tea gelée, pickled radish” as well as ‘Green asparagus, poached quail’s egg, French imperial caviar’, or ‘Filet of beef, mozzarella di buffala, radicchio’. For dessert, pastries by Chef Pierre Mathieu include ‘Multi fruit pie with almond paste, raspberry jam, vanilla cream and fresh fruits’, ‘Semolina cream cake with stewed rhubarb and strawberry’, as well as a large selection of home-made ice cream and sorbets pots: exotic fruits, 62 % Venezuelan chocolate and new citrus flavours (lemon sorbet with orange sauce, blood orange and raspberry sorbet).

As well as outside seating for everyday dining, guests can reserve the beautifully designed bird-cage styleLa Table du Jardin’, which was designed by Jouin-Manku and offers space to entertain six guests for a unique dining experience amongst the flowers and trees.

The garden also provides the perfect location for a drink with friends in the evening amongst the chicest of the Parisian set – choose from the hotel’s new wine selection of pink wines, from Côtes de Provence Rosé to the famous Bandol Rosé, Château de Pibarnon that will be served in a spectacular Jeroboam. Alternatively enjoy one of the newly created cocktails specifically designed for hot summer days, such as ‘Bellini Revisité’ which is made up of:  Champagne, peach syrup and peach liqueur mousse, or the non-alcoholic cocktail, ’Pepper Bunny’, a detox cocktail made up of: Carrot, ginger, lemon and pepper juices with Espelette pepper. A refreshing ice tea list will also be offered and ideal for hot summer days : green tea, lemon and ginger, fig and passion fruit.

Act of Racism at Mandarin Oriental Paris.

I was sitting in a common area (lobby)of the Mandarin Oriental Paris hotel on he phone with my Nigerian family ( may be a little loud) and was confronted by a hotel Chinese employee named Arina Phouthakhanty who said, “This place is for guests of the hotel. You must leave.” Room was registered under my assistant name.

The worker would hear none of my explanation that i was a guest. she insisted that i must leave immediately.

After it was established that indeed i was a distinguished guest of the Mandarin Oriental Paris Hotel and good friend of GM Philipe Leboeuf. She apologized by offering some complimentary drink and a later and try to explain hat she was part of the management team.
I asked for Mister Leboeuf and was told that he left few minutes ago. Not true , and i am sure he didn't have any report of this incident.

This incident needs to be publicized as much as possible because i cannot believe it is an isolated incident. Let it be a warning to others that we are not going to allow people to get away with this kind of behavior in 2014. It is not simply a matter of sacking the employee Arina Phouthakhanty – it is about changing attitudes and training staff appropriately. And if that is not being done then the apology is worthless.

I think i can't stay anywhere better than the famous George V in Paris. Also staying in a Four Seasons Hotel is a guarantee of quality and excellent service. I still consider that Mandarin Oriental Paris is a good hotel.
