The phoenix is Lillian Too's contribution to Chinese culture as she was the first to suggest to the dragon troupe they should make a phoenix to complement the dragon! This was some 5 years ago and the first phoenix fluttered into her garden and house during Chap Goh Meh!

WHAT BETTER THING TO DO ON NEW YEAR'S DAY ON 1 JANUARY 2012 THAN TO ATTEND LILLIAN TOO'S ANNUAL FENG SHUI EXTRAVAGANZA?
I CAN THINK OF NO BETTER WAY TO START 2012 AND A BRAND NEW YEAR THAN ATTENDING THIS CRASH COURSE IN WHAT THIS YEAR AUGURS SO THERE I WAS, BRIGHT EYED AND BUSHY TAIL, WAY AHEAD OF TIME AS I ARRIVED AT KL CONVENTION CENTRE AROUND 9.15AM.
I THOUGHT I WAS EARLY BUT MANY HAD BEATEN ME TO IT AND WERE ALREADY BUSY SHOPPING AND STOCKING UP ON THE LATEST AND HOTTEST FENG SHUI CURES AND ENHANCERS.
I HAVE NEVER MISSED ANY OF LILLIAN TOO'S FENG SHUI EXTRAVAGANZAS SINCE IT STARTED A DECADE AGO SO I THINK I DESERVE AN AWARD. THE SINGAPORE EXTRAVAGANZA AT SUNTEC CITY WAS THE BIGGEST EVER WITH A RECORD 3,000 ATTENDEES LAST DECEMBER. THE KL EXTRAVAGANZA ATTRACTED THE USUAL 1,500 WHICH MAY EXPLAIN WHY SINGAPOREANS TEND TO BE MORE GUNGHO AND SUCCESSFUL THAN US!
Here is the good news; after an enervating 2011, this year 2012 augurs better tidings. "First of all, do not believe the nonsense that 2012 will see the end of our world!" intoned Lillian Too sternly. "Second, this year will be better than 2011 as the new year has a Lap Chun. Although Chinese New Year is 23 January, the actual new year begins on 4 February. Please follow all customs and traditions this Chinese New Year as it is important. I advise celebrating the first three days on a smaller, less noisy scale. It is better to be more introspective."
Continued the world's greatest feng shui master and author whose books have sold over 10 million and translated into languages she does not even know exist,"A Dragon year is always transformative but this does not translate into an End of the World scenario! Violence and armed conflict reduce in spring and summer but worsen towards winter. There is good growth energy.
"There are 3 Clashing Pillars and 1 Productive Pillar. Earth related disasters are indicated. High powered leaders, those in leadership positions, politicians or high profiled people may suffer personal danger and should use protective amulets.
"There is Infidelity Energy floating around which can lead to sex scandals and extramarital affairs. Bad things can also happen due to a lack of intelligent judgments. There is a missing Fire element so it is advisable to wear red and bright colours and not black. Women should use red wallets but men can continue to use black wallets."
As the Tortoise is missing from the quartet of Dragon, Tiger and Phoenix, it is good to have a tortoise sculpture or live terrapin in the house.
The presence of aggressive Sword Star indicates the emergence of powerful rebel leaders or strong political opposition to established leaders.
Adds the world's best feng shui author and practitioner, "The most important things to remember are the need to use personal amulets and house talismans to ensure security and growth."

As proof, she showed on the stage screen all the major events and disasters and assasinations that happened last year according to the time frame in the feng shui and paht chee charts!
She even knew roughly the identity of the assassinated! "Yes, according to one system of calculation, the identity of the victim begun with an 'O'. I kept quiet as I didn't want to be a rumour-monger. After all, the world's most powerful man is always in danger from psychos as well as determined enemies. I did not know which 'O' would be assassinated but now we all know it was Osama and not Obama."
Someone in the audience quipped, "But that O killed this O what!"
Which reminded me of a silly joke floating in the Net. Apparently when the order came to the Special Forces to kill Osama, some troops were not sure whether to helicopter towards White House or Pakistan! It is really bizarre the world's most powerful man and the world's most wanted man had such a similar name! Osama and Obama really looked and sounded alike. Most say they are derived from the same roots, like Muhammad, Mohamed, Mehmet and Muhamet all refer to the Prophet. Or Mary, Maria, Marie and Marina are all variants from the same original name.
Lillian Too also spoke about the Third Dimension of Feng Shui which is littel known outside the inner circle but is being promoted by Lillian who is a fervent believer of dispersing knowledge. "Some feng shui masters have berated me, asking why I am revealing all feng shui secrets to the masses. They feared the laymen would no longer seek their services. But they are wrong! The more I reveal and teach, the more people come to me!"
She added this year, one must appease the spirits with incense and offerings. I always think this is a good thing as the smoek clears and purifies the air in the home or office and the lingering smell always smells so nice. According to Lillian Too, the terrifying forest fires that raged across Texas and Arizona last year could be due to disgruntled spirits wreaking their own displeasure by allowing the forests to burn to create their own 'incense' on a massive scale!
Many people, once successful, tend to forget their roots and hence began to ignore their ancient customs and traditions that had served their communities so well. She also pointed out the Arab Spring, economic miasma of Europe and Colonel Gadhaffi's death.
She declared 2012 will be the era of the Phoenix and this bird will emerge from the West as in USA so America will once again lead the international recovery. The Phoenix aka Rooster is in the western sector and the Chinese Dragon as in mainland China will do well to befriend the Phoenix. Conflicts will continue.
Lillian Too again reminded us 23rd January is actually not the best of day as death can come from the Wealth Direction. "Avoid throwing or attending large parties. Low key is best," she said. "The road to economic recovery will begin from 4 February. The Fire element is missing so red and bright colours are preferred." Of course she always do what she preaches and that day, she wore a stylish red blouse with draped collars designed by Alice Chai.
She also forsee toppling of leaders from betrayal, cheating and foolish decisions. "The missing Fire element this year refers to intelligence and misfortune as a result of one's own stupidity! Wearing red is good as it suppresses quarrels and misunderstandings so life is easier."
While waiting for stragglers to return for the final session, she told an interesting story. "When the man became the first Ming emperor, many feng shui masters in his new court congratulated him on his excellent feng shui which allowed him to ascend the Dragon throne. The new emperor then announced he should invite all the feng shui masters of his empire to a grand banquet since feng shui was all powerful. All the best masters arrived, assuming they would be richly rewarded for their skills which appeared to be appreciated by the emperor. Once assembled, he had all the doors locked and declared if feng shui was so powerful and they were all masters of feng shui, they could conspire to overthrow him! Then he had them burned and slaughtered!
"After all, before he became emperor, he was an uneducated, uncouth minor warlord and brigand! Worse, he confiscated all the feng shui tomes and destroyed them. Then this wily emperor distributed his own feng shui books containing wrong, false and misleading information! Most scholars assumed they were genuine and thus started practising wrong feng shui with unpredictable or disastrous results! There is controversy whether Forbidden City was built on genuine or falsified feng shui!
"It was only during the reign of Emperor Chien Lung of the Ching dynasty that feng shui was resurrected! He ordered a new research and compilation of all data by the best brains of the land. This laborious task took 20 years before everything was rectified and recorrected. Modern and the systematic application of feng shui we use today is mostly based on these records as the earlier feng shui knowledge prior to Ming dynasty is difficult to confirm."
