The family of Gabriella Robinson went berserk, especially Maggie Loo the mentor and Datin Sharmini Chor, the mother of Miss Tourism International. Strangely, the cool one was Rhys who remained seated and unmoved at extreme left in red tie. And he is the boyfriend of Gabriella! If I were him, I would be dancing on the table
See, Rhys was still immobile while Guna at extreme right was jumping in excitement and he was bf of Gabriella's sister! They might as well change sisters!
Oh yes, Malaysia certainly Boleh!
From the start, Rhys the handsome bf of Gabriella was calm, composed and cool as cucumber...so unnatural don't you think?
Rhys who is also Eurasian and half Chinese, half Welsh, could be collapsing inside but he was not showing his emotions
So unemotional and er, rigid, wonder how he behaves in the bedroom
PART 2; As the new Miss Tourism International was crowned minutes before midnight on 31 December 2011, it is only fair she should be queen technically for 2011, 2012 and even 2013! As she was crowned minutes before the new year, she was sadly legally Miss Tourism International for less than 10 minutes before 2011 ended to give way for 2012!
And she would reign till minutes before 2013 this year as she will relinquish her crown on 31 December 2012 this year, minutes before 2013 rings in.
Anyway, let us not nit-pick and split hairs.
Suffice to say Aileen Gabriella Robinson is a stunner who lost the recent Miss Malaysia Universe title to Kimberley Leggett by a cat's whisker. But she has rehabilitated herself, so to speak, by winning the Miss Tourism International title.
I was one of 9 judges and I recognise a beauty queen when I see one. Also due to the enthusiastic response of the audience who clapped rapturously each time she appeared, there would be a revolution if Gabriella did not win. I am convinced I would be lynched and skinned alive and left to hang if I did not give her maximum marks and Sunway Resort, Spa and Hotel would be razed to the ground. So just as well all 9 judges awarded her top marks.
It is also the first time a Miss Malaysia had won the coveted Miss Tourism title which is high time, don't you think? It has been 15 years and the nearest one romped home was when she was first runner-up but who cares about runners-up?
It is either Queen or lady-in-waiting! And we all want and adore a Queen who is the winner!
It is for this reason there are no runners-up in Miss Tourism International!
As Dato Danny Ooi the pageant founder, president and organiser said, "When a delegate returns to her country and says she won First or Second or Third runner-up in Miss Tourism International, no one bothers. Sad but true even though a first or second runner-up deserves respect and prestige.
As a result, the top 5 winners get titles like Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan, Miss Tourism Metropolitan etc so each can return home with a substantial title though the main title is Miss Tourism International."
The other winners are Miss Singapore Amanda Leong who won Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan, Carolina Cerrud who won Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan, Miss Thailand Patsaraporn Khonkhamhaeng who won Miss Tourism Global and Miss Czech Republic Jana Kopecka who won Miss Dream Girl International.
With a name like Aileen Gabriella Robinson, our Miss Tourism International obviously is not a Chinese or Indian. She is Eurasian as her mother Datin Sharmini Chor Abdullah is Chindian (half Chinese and half Indian) while Daddy is Englishman Dr Robinson.
Gabriella's parents divorced some 20 years ago and she has 4 gorgeous sisters so I suggested they should form a girl band! So when you see them perform end of this year, you will recall you read it here first and I am responsible for their genesis! Mum Datin Sharmini was a model with Act One decades ago when she was Gabriella's age!
And she is still stunning though like all of you, she can do with 4 kilos less! I suffered and dieted for a year and lost 10 kgs so I can be critical! Gabriella's mentor and coach Maggie Loo, Miss Malaysia Universe 1974, should also get rid of 15 kgs!
Of course they are envious of my new slim and sexy figure which I achieved using diet pills only from Princess Dr Becky Leogardo's BML as thinking of going to the gym exhausts me mentally and physically.
By the way, last year's Miss Malaysia Tourism International shares the same Christian name as the new winner. She was Gabriella Boudville. And she even has an A in the middle as Miss Malaysia Tourism International 2010's full name is Gabriella Ashley Boudville while Miss Malaysia Tourism International 2011 is Aileen Gabriella Robinson!
A bit of trivia for you guys!
The current Miss Malaysia Universe 2011/12 is Kimberley Ann Leggett while the reigning Miss Malaysia World is Chloe Chen.
ALL 4 Miss Malaysias are Eurasians! Wow, does this mean pure Chinks and Indians now have no chance of winning? Are future winners limited to Eurasians with white mat salleh blood coursing through their veins? All 4 Miss Malaysias are Malaysians and hold Malaysian passports but put them in London and they blend right in!
Here in Malaysia they are the minority and stand out since they look more European than Asian.
As a judge, I and my fellow judges look for physical beauty, right attitude, catwalk, poise, brains and overall physique and it does not matter if you look Chinese, Indian or mixed! As long as you are a full-fledged Malaysian, you stand to win like any other contestant! So don't lose sleep over this strange coincidence ok?
