GORGEOUS, GRAND AND GREAT GARDEN FLOWERS IN THE HAGUE, HOLLAND!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
THESE ARE COMMON, SUPPOSEDLY ORDINARY GARDEN FLOWERS FOUND BY THE MILLIONS ALL OVER HOLLAND BUT OF COURSE TO VISITORS LIKE ME FROM ASIA, THEY SEEM SO RARE, EXOTIC, EXPENSIVE AND EXCLUSIVE!
 FLOWER POWER!
BRLLIANT COLORS!

I am staying at attorney Michael Mantz's house in The Hague which is strictly residential and every house has a garden front and back. While I cannot see what lurks behind the grand houses, I can certainly see what is blooming in their front gardens!

Holland is famous for its tulips which was introduced into Holland from Turkey in the 15th century and sparked the notorious Tulip Crash a century later when noblemen, aristocrats. merchants and housewives were caught in the tulip bubble which created such a frenzy a similar incident can be compared centuries later in the Wall  Street crash of 1929!

Today, Holland, despite its small size, is a major flower exporter and their orchids and bunga raya are bigger, flashier and more beautiful than the original species in tropical Malaysia! Even their monkey pot pitcher plants are more luxuriant and cheaper than those in Cameron Highlands! The moth orchids in Holland sell for 6 euros which is RM 28 while in Malaysia it costs double and at Bangsar it retails for RM 90!

Not surprisingly then, most Dutch have green fingers as proven by their gardens!
