The Victoria
Institution Old Boys’ Association Foundation (The VIOBA Foundation) is
celebrating its 50th Golden Anniversary Charity Gala Dinner, which will take
place at the Grand Ballroom, Kuala
Lumpur Convention Centre on Saturday, 13 May 2017, 7.30 pm.
VI
has educated and produced thousands of students from all walks of life. These
include luminaries such as the Sultan of Brunei, Tan Sri Zain Azraai, Tan Sri
Rafidah Aziz, Tan Sri Dr. Tan Chee Koon, Tan Sri Zulhasnan Rafique, Tan Sri Dr.
Ng Yen Yen, Mr. Ananda Krishnan and many others.
This
historic occasion will also mark a change for the Victoria Institution as we
embark on a Master Plan Transformation
Program. This move will aspire to uplift the school’s educational standards
to world-class status, taking Victoria Institution into the arena of 21st
century education.
In attendance as the Royal
Guest of Honour would be HRH
Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom ,Sultanah Pahang who will also launch this Master
Plan.
The
VIOBA Foundation is a non-profit, non-racial, non-religious and non-political
in its objectives and activities. We provide financial support for the
advancement of education including the improvement of youth recreational
facilities and the provision of scholarships, bursaries and education loan
funds.
Over the years, we are proud to announce that the Foundation had
disbursed more than RM1,000,000 to many worthy causes.
ANNIVERSARY HIGHLIGHTS
Multi
award winning Victoria Institution’s Cadet Corp
Band (the first school band to be established in Malaysia) will
entertain with a very special performance. Dato’
Zainal Abidin will be a special guest followed by entertainment from the Aseana Percussion Unit.
Other
special events will include a significant partnership between SEGI University
and the Victoria Institution Foundation where (2) two full scholarships worth a total of RM140,000 will be awarded to
top students of the school. Donors who have contributed more than RM500,000 to
the Foundation will be honoured. Dato’
Chef Wan will present a special gourmet dish prepared for tonight’s
celebration.
There
will be an auction of three (3) match play footballs, autographed by Malaysia’s
legendary icons Dato’ Soh Chin Aun, Dato’ Shukor Salleh and Dato’ Santokh Singh with them being
special guests. Another item for auction is a specially commissioned drawing of
the Victoria Institution by Mr.
Anurendra Jegadeva, a homegrown and award winning Malaysian artist and a
Victorian.
