MIFA OPENING NIGHT ON 21 NOVEMBER 2011 AT ZEBRA SQUARE

KEE@FSWMAG.COM

IT'S MIFA AND ALL OF KL IS AGOG WITH FASHION FLASHES! YOU KNOW VERY WELL MENOPAUSAL WOMEN SUFFER FROM HOT FLASHES AND NOW WE HAVE FASHION FLASHES. OK OK I STOP PLAYING WITH WORDS.

FIRST, NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD OF ZEBRA SQUARE, THE VENUE WHERE ALL MIFA SHOWS WILL BE HELD. SOME SAID IT WAS HELD IN A HUGE TENT STRADDLING 4 ZEBRA CROSSINGS IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROUNDABOUT.

A FEW INSISTED IT WAS BEING HELD AT THE ZEBRA ENCLOSURE IN ZOO NEGARA.

I THOUGHT IT WAS NEAR CAPITAL SQUARE.

WHY THE PLACE IS CALLED ZEBRA SQUARE IS BEYOND ME. THE BUILDINGS ARE NOT IN BLACK AND WHITE EITHER.

HOWEVER IT WAS EASY TO FIND SO NONE CAN GRIPE AND GROAN.

AS TONIGHT WAS YODA (YPUNG DESIGNERS ARENA), ZEBRA SQUARE WAS HEAVING WITH YOUNGSTERS FROM 18 TO 25 AND I FELT DISTINCTLY DINOSAURIC THOUGH A FEW SAID NOT TO WOORY AS I LOOKED 28 WHICH WAS ONLY 3 YEARS OLDER THAN THE AVERAGE ATTENDEE.

THE VENUE WAS INSIDE A TENT WITH THEATRE STYLE, STEPPED SEATING SO EVERYONE ENJOYED A GOOD VIEW. OF COURSE I HAD FRONT ROW SEAT BUT I SAT ON THE SECOND ROW AS IT GAVE ME A BETTER BIRD'S EYE VIEW. THE INVITE STATES 8PM AND THE SHOW STARTED AT 8.20PM WHICH IS NOTHING SHORT OF MIRACULOUS.

Even in Paris and London, almost all shows start 30 minutes late if we are lucky and 40 minutes is the norm.

Below are loads of photos taken by me on my Leica V-Lux 20 with its super telephoto lens.
