This is my humble donation to WATSONS Christmas Celebrities Pledge. This gorgeous amber trio is worth at least RM 1,000 as I bought them separately in London over 2 years. They are worth much more than 1 grand but I managed to buy them at special prices so they are really worth what you bid for. I would say if you were to buy all three today, you would have to spend at least RM 3,000.

This is such a worthy and meaningful cause and a commendable initiative by WATSONS your family store that I was keen to do my part. I have given a trio of precious amber jewellery to be sold and I hope all my kind-hearted readers will make an effort to attend this exciting Christmas event at Sunway Pyramid on 22 November 2011 at 1 pm at Blue Concourse and do your bit.

All items to be auctioned will be posted on WATSONS facebook so check it out and make a bid! It is all for charity and Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and Heavenly Father are all looking down from high heaven on you to see what you are doing to alleviate the suffering of the poor and downtridden.

Always remember it could have been YOU born into wretched circumstances or abandoned by your parents or born with debilitating disease or born crippled! Why was someone else born blind or ended up paralysed after an accident. Why not you? Why must it happened to So and So and why not YOU? That beggar in the street begging for pennies under the boiling sun? Why were YOU not born a beggar? Why did the dice turn on him or her?

I and you do not wake up each morning wondering if we would be cheated, robbed, hurt or killed? No, we NEVER think of such sad things and if we do, we ALWAYS assume such accidents or bad things would happen to others. The trouble is, the others also think bad things would not happen to them and would happen to 'others' who would be us!

If everyone thinks like this, then no accidents or horrendous things would happen at all. Insurance companies would close shop and the entire police and security forces would be disbanded. But sadly as we know, accidents, theft, robbery, cheating, killing, murders and assorted bad things do happen and on a regular basis!

So if nothing bad has happened to you, then you have been singularly blessed with Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, Heavenly Father and the blessed Mother Mary! So you MUST be thankful and help those upon whom such sad things have happened. This is the least you can do, especially during the Christmas season though you should donate to charity throughout the year.

The fact you are able to read this means you are NOT blind which is a major blessing so pray help others who are worse off than you. I believe Bill Gates is richer than me and he donates by the billions of US dollars so his place in heaven is secure.

I have done my teeny weeny bit so at least I am facing the right direction as the sign reads "This Way to Heaven'.

Now we can see Kimberley's face!

I always believe if I am to donate something to charity, it must be of some value and meaning to me. One should not give away something one does not want or waiting for a chance to get rid of. The gift, coming from the heart of the donor, should be something that has pleased him at one stage. Obviously one is not expected to give away an item worth a million ringgit (though that would be nice!) or an heirloom inherited from parents. My amber set has a special meaning to me as they were purchased nearly 2 decades ago in London when jewellery was not at the top of my ‘must have’ list. Back then, I was just climbing and crawling and clambering up the ladder. I had to worry about mortgages and bills but still, I wanted amber jewellery.

Over time I switched to more glam and high octane pieces and I thought of adding semi precious stones to these amber or gold-plating them. But something held me back as I wanted them to remain in the original condition when I first bought them, reminding me of the fun times I had finding them in London.

Amber washed up from the Baltic Sea was finding a new market and were relatively expensive relative to gold and precious stones. They were also very fashionable at that time due to the series of exhibitions mounted by London’s Natural History Museum and Jurassic Park movies! I scoured all of London and bought these three separately over 2 years. Two are deep, dark and golden. The pendant is yellow amber, bright, happy and always lulled me into a sunny disposition. I wore them all the time. The ring fits all fingers since it is adjustable. The dark golden pendant just requires a leather cord and you instantly look cool and sizzling at the same time! The big yellow pendant comes in 2 parts, forming a heart. As I was flirting shamelessly with the seller, I was told one half of the heart would always remind me of the seller in Camden Town! So now the new owner will always have one part of my heart, sending good wishes of wealth and health!”

Below is the list of items donated by other celebrities which is still in the process of compilation. Go to Watsons Malaysia on facebook for the latest update.
