Kuala Lumpur International Comedy Festival (KLICFest) 2017
Once Again Brings You a Feast of World Comedy!

It’s back again for the second time, a marathon of international stand-up comedy brought to you by Laugh Factory’s Funniest Person in The World Winner- Harith Iskander! The Kuala Lumpur International Comedy Festival (KLICFest), organized by Harith Iskander V Day Productions, is Kuala Lumpur’s very own and considered by many to be Asia’s best comedy festival, where some of the biggest and best comedians from around the world take the stage to entertain audiences across three consecutive days.

The festival program, curated by Harith Iskander himself, features performances from the finest Malaysian acts, the biggest international stars and one local legend offering both English and Bahasa Malaysia comedy. So if you’re looking for a remedy of funnies to chase those blues away, Black Box and The Bee in Publika will be the best places to get a dose of non-stop laughter this April from the 21st till the 23rd.

Directed by Harith himself and produced by his beautiful and loving wife, Jezamine Lim Iskander, the KLICFest is aimed at bringing Malaysians from all walks of life together in solidarity under the one thing that everybody loves – great comedy! “This year, we’re all set to celebrate comedy in style, thanks to some high-octane talent, and a typically timely schedule of shows that are sure to have audiences rolling in their seats with laughter. After all, they do say that laughter is the best medicine… unless you are actually unwell, then please go see a doctor!,” says Harith.

To kick off the laughter frenzy, KLICFest opened its curtains in style with a massive Gala event – “Harith Iskander's To Know Malaysia, Is To Laugh Malaysia III on 18th April at the Black Box, Publika. The Gala night brought together the biggest international stars, popular Malaysian talents and one local legend which turned out to be a spectacular and hilarious night of comedy.

Featuring acts from international comedy gurus such as Harith Iskander (Malaysia), Paul Ogata (USA), Prince Abdi (Somalia), Katerina Vrana (Greece), Christopher Daley (Jamaica) amongst others, the Gala Night will offer audience a teaser of what is to come in the comedy mayhem that is KLICFest 2017.

Bringing together laughter and philanthropy under one event, the Gala night also saw volunteers from Malaysian Aids Foundation, Sisters in Islam and Woman’s Aids Organization  treated to a night of laughter by the organizers of KLICFest 2017.

You’ll have to hold on to your seats for a time of side-splitting comedy shows at KLICFest 2017 from 21 – 23 April like Harith Iskander’s Making S#it Up, Stendap Komedi 1, Afdlin Shauki’s Standing Up Singing Vol 3, Fakkah Fuzz's "Get the Fuzz", The Angry Indians, and Nabil Ahmad's MeleSTOP!, amongst others.

To get the best of KLICFest 2017, a daily pass which entitles you to 6 shows per day inclusive of additional 2 shows on 21 April, Friday, is available at only RM158. Love this deal but have no place to leave the kids on Sunday? Worry not! The kids can be dropped off for FREE kids’ fun filled activity sessions organized by Erika Perez Sports Academy while you enjoy laughter on a Sunday with your better half. More details on the programme can be found on KLICFest 2017 Facebook page. The kids’ programme includes:

2pm:  Creative Dance
3pm:  Speech and Drama
4pm:  Kids Flash Mob
5pm:  Indoor Soccer

In line with Harith’s nature and continuous efforts in motivating people, especially students, to draw positivity and success in life through the power of laughter, the festival will include a motivational talk conducted by him. The talk will take place on 23rd April at 5pm at The Bee, Publika. Tickets are priced at RM45 for adults and RM35 for students.
