New excitement at RWG's
Vision City Video Games Park
Among the largest arcade
centres in Malaysia, it is more vibrant, bigger and better than ever before
Never
mind what they say about arcade parlours having seen better days: arcade gaming is here to stay, especially in the
context of a holiday resort. Whether one is holidaying alone, with family or
friends, or with work colleagues, arcade video games do offer much
entertainment value, promising hours of fun and instilling a sense of
togetherness among people.
At
Resorts World Genting, Vision City Video Games Park is where leisure seekers of
all ages can enjoy the countless machines that provide an array of pleasurable
challenges. One of the largest arcade centres in the country, a total of 429
units of machinery are available, offering four different types of games,
namely video games, redemption games, kiddie rides and skill games.
The
total number of video games available is 294, including the latest
state-of-the-art video machines from Japan, Taiwan and China. The centre's
yearly product refresh cycle covers about 10% of the total number of machines,
promising new excitement all the time.
Like
the rest of the resort that is undergoing a major transformation, the Vision
City Video Games Park is now more vibrant, bigger and better than ever before.
It is only fitting that this entertainment hub should experience a facelift, a
vibrant new chapter having begun at the resort with the arrival of the
SkyAvenue mall and other new developments like the state-of-the-art Awana
Skyway cable car system. The arrival of international F&B brand names like
the London-based Burger & Lobster, France's Cafes Richard and the
Brooklyn-based Motorino, has also added to the excitement, creating buzz among
holiday makers and gourmands.
But
certainly, for a memorable stay, visitors should include in their itinerary a
visit to the Vision City Video Games Park where they can feast their eyes on
many sights and sounds. Arcade games for young and old alike beckon, urging
visitors to explore their sense of adventure and simply unwind.
The
video games available consist of shooting games, racing games, fighting games
and music games. These are especially popular among the younger set, but no
less enjoyable are redemption games that reward the player proportionally to
their score once they hit their targets. The scores are converted into
e-tickets that are kept in the player's eZicash card; players can accumulate
these e-tickets and have them stored for a maximum of two years. The e-tickets
can be used to redeem merchandise at GRC Too.
Visitors
can also enjoy the many skill games available that test a player's accuracy in
aiming and hitting; their tool is a ball, a coin or a gun. And each time they
hit a target, they are given a prize—usually a plush toy—on the spot. The
higher the level of difficulty, the larger the prize. The older generation
would no doubt experience a pang of nostalgia when they play this game, but its
timeless appeal means young and old alike would enjoy it.
Other
exciting things that are happening
The
new sights and sounds afforded by SkyAvenue and Awana Skyway have made Resorts
World Genting a must-visit destination. The lifestyle mall and the freshly minted
cable car system— along with the new Bus Terminal located at Awana Station—are
all part of a 10-year masterplan to transform the resort, and now that they
have been unveiled, do provide visitors a glimpse of the next exciting chapter
for one of the world's leading resort operators.
This new
chapter includes the highly anticipated opening of the world's first 20th
Century Fox World theme park next year.
These
new developments will collectively help to strengthen the resort's position as
an entertainment hub that caters to all types of visitors. SkyAvenue, among the
biggest thing to happen at the resort since its inception more than five
decades ago, is family-friendly and will satisfy people from all walks of life.
