VALENTINE’S DAY CELEBRATIONS AT
SHANGRI-LA HOTEL, KUALA LUMPUR
Lafite, Arthur’s Bar &
Grill and Zipangu at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur are all set to
celebrate Valentine’s Day on 14 February with the most romantic dinners.
The elegant ambience of Lafite, with its soft lighting, and its
impeccable service, is so ideal for this night of love. A special six-course
French fine dining menu has been created for this occasion by Lafite’s chef de
cuisine Jean-Philippe Guiard.
Lafite’s Valentine’s Day menu, at RM450++ per person, begins with Foie
Gras and Smoked Tuna Terrine, Puy Lentil Coulis and Truffle Brioche, followed
by Clear Lobster Consommé, Egg at 63C, Artichoke and Lobster Ravioli, Fresh
Black Truffle.
It continues with Hokkaido Scallop Savarin, Bisque Sauce and Aquitaine’s
Caviar, then Passion Fruit Sherbet, Lemon Emulsion and Zest.
The main course is Roasted Rack of Veal, Truffle Pomme Amandine, Grilled
Asparagus and Morel Sauce.
Dessert is Praline, Chocolate and Cherry Revised Black Forest.

Arthur’s Bar & Grill
At Arthur’s Bar & Grill, the “Sweet Valentine” evening on 14
February begins with welcome cocktails. It’s a martini for the ladies who will
be presented with a rose. The men will be served a vodka-based cocktail.
They can choose a three-course or four-course set Valentine menu with a
shared dessert. The three-course menu is RM168++ per person, the four-course
one is RM188++ per person.
The four-course menu begins with Beechwood Smoked Salmon on Truffle
Scrambled Egg Bruschetta, Lemon, Capers and Fine Greens. A soup – Cep Mushroom Veloute
with Steamed Bread Dumpling and Croutons follows.
The main course is a choice of Australian Black Angus Prime Rib and
Yorkshire Pudding, sautéed green beans, grilled tomato, béarnaise sauce and
natural jus, or Grilled Black Cod with Green Lobster, mashed potato, sautéed
green beans, grilled tomato and Hollandaise sauce.
Dessert is Strawberry Cheesecake, Pistachio Praline Ice Cream and Rose
Chocolate Éclair.

Zipangu
For the Zipangu Japanese restaurant, it’s Valentine’s Week from 9
February to 14 February.
It’s a romantic dinner, savouring the best in Japanese cuisine here. The
dinner, at RM260++ per person offers two appetisers, a cold dish, hot dish,
grilled dish, rice and dessert. In each category on the menu, there are four
choices.
You could begin with Seared Scallop with vinegar and radish sauce, and
Grilled Salt Water Eel Sushi and Freshwater Eel Sushi.
In the cold dish, you could have a Mixed Sashimi of Three Kinds. The hot
dish would be Stewed Beef Tongue and Vegetables, served with baguette slice.
You could move on to Teriyaki Duck and Goose Liver with orange and
mushroom sauce for the grilled dish.
You could choose Sushi (4 pieces) or Rice in Tea Broth with Salmon
Flakes.
Dessert could be Crème Brulee with Sweet Red Beans, topped with vanilla
ice cream.
