This year, BCONNECT is venturing into the International Arena in high fashion of Culture and Heritage. It is their aim to connect our Cultures and Traditions beyond.
Hence, they will bring go international with the tagline BCONNECT: Malaysia Borneo Cultural Festival...Borneo & Beyond.
BCONNECT 2015 has been officially endorsed and recognized by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia in conjunction with "Year of Festival 2015."
On other hand, in appreciation of Malaysia being the Chairman of ASEAN Chairmanship and the hosting country for ASEAN Day 2015, BCONNECT has been given the honor and privilege to do special performance for ASEAN Day, which will be held on August 8th, 2015 in Kuala Lumpur (venue to be announced by Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia soon).
2. Inaugural Event
This event will be held for the second time this year (2015). The first time it was held (year 2014, at Sultan Abdul Samad Building Kuala Lumpur), it captured positive attention from the public especially international tourists from foreign countries such as US, UK, European countries as well as regional ASEAN countries.
The event was attended by the representative of Chief Minister of Sarawak, YBhg. Datuk Talip Zulpilip who is also the Deputy Minister of Tourism Sarawak.
Back then, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building served as an important structure for the English. It was, and still is, beautiful, iconic and was probably the most photographed building at the time. The English once used the buildings as the administration office for the government. Now, the building houses the supreme and high courts.
The venue was chosen due to its authenticity of Culture and Heritage values and its aesthetic significance contributing to the great history of our country as well as the appreciation of marvel architecture.
What is most significant is that it was also the first time the Government allowed a non-governmental organization in making use of this premise due to BCONNECT's great effort in promoting the essence of Malaysia Borneo.
Following its success in 2014, a post event was held at I-City Shah Alam during Malaysia Day. It was called, “SOIRÉE 2014 – Borneo Fashion Fame," and held in conjunction with the 51st Anniversary of Malaysia Day 2014.
Featuring the winners of Miss and Mister Malaysia Borneo Tourism 2014, Miss Scuba Malaysia 2014 finalists and some of Malaysia's most talented and established fashion designers, it was an event in association with The Star Property Fair. It was held on September 15th, 2014 at I-Walk, I-City, Shah Alam, Selangor.
