Firefly celebrated its eighth anniversary with the theme being CELEBRA8.
This year is expected to be a flourishing year ahead for this airline with its new fare packages in place – FlyPremier and FlyBasic, its recent implementation of FPX – a real time online payment option, its collaboration with Peugeot Lounge at Subang Skypark where Firefly customers can experience Peugeot Lounge’s facilities at half the price of walk- in customers rate – RM25 instead of RM50, and the arrival of its fifth new ATR 72-600 aircraft, making it a total of 17 aircraft in the fleet to-date.
Firefly’s CEO, Ignatius Ong said, “Today we celebrate our anniversary of operating for eight years. From our offering of six destinations in 2007, we now serve ten domestic and eight regional neighborhood destinations while our fleet has grown from three Fokker-50s to 17 ATR 72 series aircraft.
"The number of passengers carried has grown tremendously from 390,000 in 2007 to 2.2 million last year. We foresee a double-digit growth in 2015, while at the same time expand our route network further and commit to maintaining a clean slate on safety over the years to come.”
In conjunction with its 8th Anniversary celebration, Firefly is rewarding its loyal customers with 88,888 free flight tickets, excluding airport taxes, GST and surcharges, to all its destinations.
There is also an on-going ‘Captain’s Draw’ on all Firefly flights today, whereby 88 lucky passenger will each stand a chance to win an exclusive Firefly notepad.
Firefly will also give away Furious 7 movie screening tickets to lucky loyal Firefly customers and partners.

Background on Firefly
