The long queue as Malaysians rushed to be among the first to own the new best seller.

Shit happens but not to these two as they became the first two Malaysians to officially buy the new Samsung Galaxy S II! Meet Choy Kok Sheng and Khoo Teck Shiang, both 19, who waited and camped overnight to lay their lips on the phones!

Chan Che Hooi was the third buyer. All three camped out at Midvally from midnight Tuesday so they would be the first to lay their hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S II. Hope they got a fat discount for such devotion

IT WAS LAUNCHED ON 22 JUNE 2011 AT MID VALLEY KL.

THE NEW SAMSUNG GALAXY S II IS MUSIC TO YOUR EARS; The screen is larger by 14% from its predecessor at 4.27 inch and is the lightest in the world at 116 gram and also the thinnest at 8.5mm! What more can you ask for? A low price? How about RM 1,199 compared to its retail price of RM 2,099!!!!! Sign up with MAXIS!

GALAXY S II Lifestyle Image (1).jpg

If Samsung Galaxy S II's 4.27 inch screen is still too small for your taste, watch your photos on the big screen! Yes, you can do so with Kies 2.0!

GALAXY S II Lifestyle Image (1).jpg

You would think he would use the 8 mega pixel camera in his new Samsung Galaxy S II to photograph pretty girls instead of a bicycle but there is no accounting for taste..

Games take on a new dimension

GALAXY S II Lifestyle Image (3).jpg

Now you can match your shawl with your spices!

IT HAS ALL THE EXCUSES YOU NEED TO BUY AT RM 2,009 WHICH IS CONSIDERED VERY REASONABLE BUT WE ARE SPOILED ROTTEN FOR CHOICES THESE DAYS. SO SIGN UP WITH MAXIS FOR A STUPENDOUS DEAL FROM AS LOW AS RM 1,199 FOR 24 MONTHS. THAT IS A SAVINGS OF RM 900!

GALAXY S II IS THE SUCCESSOR TO SAMSUNG'S PHENOMENAL GALAXY S WHICH WAS LAUNCHED LAST YEAR AND SOLD A RECORD 14 MILLION UNITS WORLDWIDE. OF COURSE SOME WILL SAY LET US WAIT FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY S III NEXT YEAR, IN WHICH CASE BETTER WAIT ANOTHER 30 YEARS FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY XXXIII WHICH WILL BE PROBABLY SO ADVANCED YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO PRESS ANY BUTTON OR SPEAK AS IT WILL DETECT YOUR BRAINS AND ACT ACCORDING TO YOUR MENTAL INSTRUCTIONS.

MEANWHILE, THERE IS SAMSUNG GALAXY S II READY TO PLAY RIGHT NOW. AT 8.5MM, IT IS THE WORLD'S THINNEST AS ANY THINNER AND IT MAY BREAK WHEN YOUR FOREFINGER PRESSES ON THE SCREEN!

IT WEIGHS 116 GRAMS SO YOU CAN ACTUALLY STAND ON YOUR WEIGHING MACHINE WHILE USING THE PHONE. SOME OF MY FRIENDS USING FAT, CLUNKY PHONES ARE FORCED TO LEAVE THEIR PHONES ON THE SINK WHILE WEIGHING THEMSELVES.

THE NEW SAMSUNG GALAXY S II ALSO BOASTS A SCREEN OF 4.3 INCHES (OK, 4.27 INCHES PRECISELY) SO OLDIES NEEDING READING GLASSES CAN STILL USE IT. THIS NEW SCREEB IS 14% BIGGER THAN ITS PREDECESSOR SO THERE IS ANOTHER REASON TO CELEBRATE.

SADLY IT DOES NOT COME IN PINK OR PURPLE BUT IT IS SO SLIM THERE IS NOT MUCH SURFACE AREA TO SPRAY ON THE PAINTS! IT IS SO SKINNY AT 8.5 MM IT SLIDES STRAIGHT INTO YOUR SHIRT POCKET AND PANTS THOUGH I AM RATHER WORRIED IT MIGHT CRACK IF I PUT IT INSIDE MY TIGHT JEANS' BACK POCKET AND SIT! BUT USERS TELL ME IT IS HOLDING WELL AND SAMSUNG WOULD HAVE TESTED IT UNDER NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR CONDITIONS TO ENSURE IT SURVIVES IN THE REAL WORLD OF GETTING THROWN INSIDE A GUCCI OR BONIA BAG.

THINK SAMSUNG AND THINK SPEED, SLIM, SCREEN AND YOU WILL SCREAM!

"In Korea, Samsung Galaxy S II sold 100,000 units in the first 3 days and over a million within a month. In Malaysia we expect a similar response." said Kwon Jae Hoon, MD of Samsung Malaysia Electronics. He was too modest but the Malaysian launch was delayed as so many units were sold out they ran out of supplies! Samsung's factories are now cranking out these mobile geniuses at full capacity but quantities are limited as quality control remains strict.

The Samsung GALAXY S II is the culmination of this commitment, meeting and taking consumers’ needs to a whole new experience.
