Emirates, the Official Airline of the Maybank Malaysian Open for the eighth consecutive year, was proud to host the Emirates Junior Golf Clinic to reiterate its commitment and support to golf for Malaysians right down to the grassroots level.

Fifteen lucky children comprising young golfers from Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam and Royal Selangor Golf Club were treated to a coaching session with American professional golfer, Jason Knutzon.

Apart from sharing the fundamental basics in golf from putting, chipping and bunker shots, Jason Knutzon shared tips on how to become successful golfer from mastering technique through gripping a club properly, ensuring good alignment and posture to displaying a positive attitude.

Emirates is proud to connect Malaysians to golf and we feel that the Emirates Junior Golf Clinic is a great platform for aspiring young golfers to learn more about the sport from the professionals themselves. We hope that this clinic will further nurture their interest and inspire and motivate them to become the future professional golfers in the country,” said Mr. Kavin Martinus, Country Manager, Emirates Malaysia.

A nine year old junior golfer, Grace Chin Jun Li, was ecstatic to be part of the junior golf clinic, which is the first she has ever participated which involved a professional golfer. She said, “It was truly exciting to meet Jason Knutzon and play golf with a great sportsman. I’ve learned so much in just one hour.”

Another junior golfer, Adam Jema Khan, aged six said, “I had fun at the clinic and hope to be a professional golfer like Jason Knutzon one day.”
