ANGELS & DEMONS by Tangoo
This season the fabulous designing duo Moses Law and Eric Yeong
of Tangoo have released their new collection called ‘Angels & Demons’
created expressly for STYLO.
This Yinyang concept denotes the divine and beastly in mankind
and is a wicked wink at the vagaries of fashion and of humankind itself. No one
is perfect and few would dare claim otherwise!
“Angels & Demons are found in everyone! Of course most of us
are more angelic than demonic which allows mankind to progress and civilisation
to prosper and achieve amazing results,” explains Moses Law with a grin. “In
all cultures and religions we find a loving God accompanied by nasty, naughty
devils and mischief makers. God is good and love triumphs but evil is never far
away. Even in the Garden of Eden, Satan managed to enter in the form of a
serpent to seduce Eve into eating the Apple of Knowledge!”
And so Tangoo has unleashed 6 startling outfits, 3 in silver and
3 in black, a perfect balance of yinyang and the forces of good and naughty!
Lace, usually associated with delicate feminity and subtle grace
is used forcefully and fiercely against a black background, giving it a cutting
edge appeal. Something so lady-like is now given a new leash of life as a
weapon for a vamp!
As for the silvery versions, lace again predominates but done
more conventionally since silver and lace are more well matched. The designs
are modern and stylishly quirky as befits Tangoo’s reputation so one can look
demure and dare we say, devilish at the same time.
After all, the vamp’s the tramp and an angel is seen from many
angles!
ABOUT TANGOO
Founded in 2002 by Eric Yeong and Moses Law, the name Tangoo
hold special significance. If you assume the name has something to do with the
sizzling dance tango, you are right! Eric and Moses met at a tango dance class,
started to chat casually and discovered they were distantly related! Again by
chance both were dissatisfied with their jobs and enjoyed fashion designing. So
it was a matter of time before both resigned from their jobs and launched their
own fashion firm artfully named ‘Tangoo’. “We added an extra ‘o’ to make it
more unique and memorable. So far it works!” laughs Moses Law.
Both are inspired by ethnic cultures and tribal motifs from Asia
but also by High Victoriana, Gothicism and Bohemian flourishes so this new
collection is seen as relatively restrained but eminently wearble.
