THE 26TH ANUGERAH BINTANG POPULAR BY BERITA HARIAN IS 1 YEAR OLDER THAN FESTIVAL FILEM MALAYSIA.
The hugely popular and powerful Anugerah Bintang Popular or Most Popular Stars awards was held at Putra Stadium at Bukit Jalil, next to the huge openair stadium.
Luckily the organisers Berita Harian chose this covered Putra Stadium as it rained heavily at one stage as big stars had to run quickly into the foyer instead of the usual elegant stroll.
The dress code was Strictly Formal but only a few adhered to it which was just as well since all the fashionistas came decked in their finery and ready to thrill and kill with spectacular costumes, shoes and accessories.
Fans gathered outside to take photos of their idols who walked sedately and posed for them. Luckily the rain came at almost the end of the parade with most stars safely and dryly ensconced indoors.
Around 8,500 stars, celebrities and fans thronged Putra Stadium and I had a great time admiring the leading Malay stars if screen, stage and song all dressed to the nines.
