Firefly turns six; Bigger, Better, Bolder!
Firefly celebrated its sixth anniversary yesterday with the theme being Bigger, Better, Bolder. This year is expected to be a
flourishing year ahead for the airline with its new cabin
crew uniform in place, recent website face-lift, branding enhancement exercise,
and its brand new ATR 600 fleet series that will be joining the family from
June onwards to further strengthen its local as well as its regional network.
Firefly’s CEO, Ignatius Ong said. “We are all
geared up to further execute the refresh plan that begun implementation from
December last year. We thought that it was about time that we gave passengers
an opportunity to experience our renowned services with a renewed travelling
spirit. Hereby, I would like to convey our sincere appreciation to all of our
valued customers, many of whom are regular business travellers and the rest
being leisure travellers alike. With your continued support, the company has seen
incredible growth since its inception six years ago, both in fleet size and
network footprint.”
In conjunction with its 6th
Anniversary celebration, Firefly rewarded its loyal customers that include six
top spenders and six frequent flyers respectively. There is also an on-going
‘Captain’s Draw’ on all of Firefly flights today, whereby one lucky passenger on
every flight will win two return Firefly flight tickets. Custom made birthday
cupcakes were also given on board today.
The highlight of its 6th birthday
campaign is the chance for one randomly selected customer to win six Firefly
flight tickets, on six respective days, when they book seats from now to 6
April from any of Firefly’s sales channels.
Currently
there is a birthday promotion starting from an all-in, one way fare of RM 66
for domestic destinations and RM 166 for regional destinations. Booking period
is from now to 6 April, for the travel period between 15 April 2013 – 29 Mac

Firefly, a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, began operations in April 2007.
Currently, it operates a fleet of 12 ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft out of
Penang and Subang, connecting secondary destinations within the
