M Missoni was opened by the Italian ambassador His Excellency Mr Mario Sammartino accompanied by his wife Madame Federica and the Yeoh family who owns Starhill Gallery and half of Bukit Bintang. Representing the clan was Dato Yeoh Soo Ming finance director of YTL Group, her niece Yeoh Pei Nee and Ida Lokman from Niche Retailing, YTL's marketing arm.
Missoni's representative who flew in from Hong Kong for the occasion was the very tall and elegant (then again, anyone wearing Missoni will look that) Natalia Ryoo. She was tall enough for me to mistake her for another fellow Korean Kimora though Kimora is taller. Natalia looked stunning in a one-shoulder Missoni.
Around 115 upscale ladies turned up for the opening, many of whom were toting RM 35,000 Hermes Birkin or Kelly bags. I have never seen so many Birkin-laden ladies congregating together! Even young daughters were seen carrying Birkins like their mothers!
I would have thought young daughters would rather die a hundred deaths than carry the same handbags as their mothers!
I carried a crocodile bag replete with stuffed baby crocodile! So my bag was the most exclusive and even Natalie Ryoo from Missoni Hong Kong said she admired my attire, bag and bling!
I overdosed on champagne and did not try the finger foods as I prefer solid mee mamak or char kuay teow so later Princess Dr Becky Leogardo and I trotted downstairs to Shook! restaurant for beef noodles.
