Asia's leading new resort features stunning design by superstar architect Bill Bensley and Michelin-inspired dining on a scenic peninsula of Central Vietnam

The brand newInterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, which features stunning design by superstar architect Bill Bensley, and cuisine headlined by multiple Michelin-starred legend Michel Roux is set to become not only one of the most sought after resorts in Vietnam, but one of the most remarkable in Asia.

Majestically cascading down the side of the Son Tra Peninsula's Monkey Mountain, the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula sprawls over 39 hectares of breath-taking natural landscape, with striking panoramic views of the East Sea, historic monuments and ancient ruins. The resort is divided into four distinct levels aptly named Heaven, Sky, Earth and Sea and at its highest point is 100m above its own 700m stretch of secluded beach. It even has its own unique funicular railway linking each of the forested slopes from The Summit to the seaside.

The 197-room resort was designed by charismatic architect Bill Bensley whose Bensley Design Studios, based in Bangkok, has produced some of the region’s most unique and inspiring hotel and resort designs. Bill's vision for InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula was to bring to life elements of traditional Vietnamese architecture and its colonial influences in a stunning contemporary reinterpretation. The result is a masterpiece of vivid colours and striking furnishings all custom made for the resort, yet still overall reflective of traditional Vietnamese architectural style.

The resort’s rooms, suites and villas, all have their own ocean views and individual unique features. The Resort Premium Rooms have expansive indoor and outdoor spaces; Heavenly Penthouses are private havens crowning the rooftops of the highest buildings in the resort, while Seaside Villas by the Beach are set in an idyllic location a stone’s throw away from the beach. The crowning glory, the Royal Residence by the Sea is a magnificent two-bedroom villa rising up out of the water on stilts and offering an indulgent 300 sqm of opulent space.

The distinctive restaurants and bars are a true highlight of the resort, and offer visitors an enticing array of tastes and venues to suite all tastes and occasions.

Headlining the resort’s culinary offering is La Maison1888, an outstanding French haute cuisine restaurant with legendary three Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux at the helm. La Maison 1888 is Michel's latest venture and his first foray into Asia. The restaurant is styled after an exquisite French colonial mansion, with each of its intimate dining areas reflecting the different eras of Colonial Vietnam dating back to 1888.  Buffalo Bar, set within La Maison 1888 is a timeless classic serving fine wines, vintage champagnes and the finest hand-rolled Cuban cigars.

The resort’s all-day restaurant isCitron which serves a magnificent buffet breakfast spread, and a wide variety of Vietnamese and international delicacies for lunch and dinner. The Vietnamese kitchen is overseen by master chef Anh Tuyet from Hanoi, one of Vietnam’s leading culinary celebrities. The other highlights are the circular outdoor private dining booths which are suspended 100 metres above sea level affording breathtaking views of the shoreline below.
Barefoot Cafeis a relaxed beach front restaurant with an accent on freshly caught seafood. At sundown, dinner is served with blazing torchlights and the gentle lapping of the ocean waves as a backdrop.

The Long Bar
was created as a chilled out spot for guests to gather over expertly mixed cocktails in a stylish contemporary lounge setting on the beach front, and, as it name suggests, it features an exceptionally long bar running adjacent to the beach. Next to to The Long Bar is the Kids’ Pool and Kids’ Bar, which both offer a section for younger guests to enjoy specially created mock-tails and snacks.

At InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula's HARNN Heritage Spa, guests can bathe in soothing elixirs and rainforest fragrances and indulge in the most sublime spa treatments. The spa's signature therapy, Journey of Marble Mountain, is based on the principals of Dong Yi (traditional oriental medicine), and is aimed at redressing the balance of yin and yang. Guests can indulge themselves in award winning therapies such as 'Foot Virtuoso' by Bastien Gonzalez, a favourite amongst celebrities, whose treatments focus on medically oriented nail and skin treatments. For those wishing to actually stay within the spa, there are two Spa Lagoon Retreat Villas based within this serene environment.

Offering the most impressive event facilities in the Central Vietnam region, The Summit is the resort’s dedicated event centre, a perfect location for weddings, meetings and events alike. It boasts 900 sqm of indoor space, where every space radiates splendour, and blends the latest in technology with a modern interpretation of traditional Vietnamese design elements. For more casual gatherings, there are a variety of outdoor venues, including the Beachfront, the Pool Garden, and the terrace of French restaurant La Maison 1888, all of which can play host to an alfresco cocktail party, wedding or intimate dinner.
