The Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge Party was the hottest and greatest party ever during the recent Formula One races at Sepang International Circuit! This was the entrance and a prominent sign read 'Don't Drink and Drink'.

World class mixologists Amanda Wan and Shawn Chong Yi created 4 signature Johhnie Walker cocktails for the night. I missed them all!

The Malaysian Grand Prix weekend 2011 will always be remembered for 2 events; the Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge and the Rain concert cum Ford Supermodel Search Malaysian edition. No ifs, buts or maybes.

Till now my head still throbs with the music from Johnnie Walker's bash and Rain's songs...but what a way to nurse a hangover.

The Johnnie Walker Black Circuit Lounge was a class act, a league of its own, with enough fun and fabulousity to ignite the city of Kuala Lumpur. It was the Official Race Party of the Malaysian Grand Prix KL so it had to live up to its reputation! I guess a thousand guests must have walked in and staggered out in the course of the night but I was bowled over by Johnnie Walker's generosity and largesse. I almost expected the company to dole out cash as we entered or exited, they were that generous and 'taifong'.

First the celebs and VIPs received their invites hand delivered to their lair by Mr Johnnie Walker himself, or at least some hunk dressed up like him in top hat, cane and long morning coat. This was the celebrated Striding Man, the iconic logo of the world's most famous whisky.

As my friend and I drove up to the Marquee at Palace of Golden Horses, we were wondering where to park when we were told all valet parking was complimentary! Well, that was at least worth RM 15 to RM 20! There was a huge sign that read "DON'T DRINK & DRIVE" which was very sound advice and I am sure everyone took that to heart as we have all heard of grisly accidents as a result of drunk driving.

Cool or what

We were given a cool pin and we could scarcely believe our peepers at the interior. There were bar stations at strategic locations and each table had a normal sized bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label. At first I thought these were reserved tables for VIPS like me, heheh, but as every table had one or two bottles, I realised liquor would flow till dawn and this was going to be a party that would grind my brains to mash.

It did.

There were Beautiful People galore and young ones at that. For once I did not bump into the usual old bags trying desperately to be hip and young. The party animals here were young, raring to go and very alpha. The decor was in the style of the acclaimed Black Circuit Lounge in Monaco where getting in is a major accomplishment which you can and should include in your CV.

Brand manager Charles James Wright declared, "Johnnie Walker, the award winning Scotch whisky has partnered Formula One team Vodafone MacLaren Mercedes since 2005 and we are dedicated to bringing the best of this sport to our fans. The Black Circuit Lounge is about global glamour and style of an authentic Grand Prix race party experience."

At the rate they were going, I expected Beyonce and Lady Gaga to perform but we had to make do with top international deejays like Sophia Lin from USA and deejay Bento from Tokyo. Deejay Faith from Malaysia also spun for the A-listers which included Alex Yoong, ex Formula One driver, Miss Malaysia World 2009 Thanujah, Miss Malaysia 2004 Andrea Fonseka and Miss Maalysia Universe 2010 Nadine Ann Thomas and model sisters Vanessa and Pamela Chong.

Also in attendance were the likes of popular TV hosts Joanne de Rozario, Hansen Lee, Megan Tan and Roshan and singers Reshmonu adn Suki Low.

Well, these personalities are well known but they pale into abject insignificance compared to the REAL A-listers whose worldly possessions were parked at the entrance----owners of the incredibly fabulous and frightfully expensive sports cars.
L1200671.JPG

Any passerby would swear the evening was nothing more than a car show as the line-up of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Porsches, Alpha Romeos and Lancias made the usual Mercedes Benzes and BMWs look like poor cousins and these were parked at the end as all the best and most prominent spaces were reserved for the flashiest cars. The garden variety were parked only after the car jockeys ran out of flashy sports cars! I calculated there must be around a RM 100 million worth of sports cars alone! And I did not know any of the owners! I must be slipping.

All these look fast even when standing still!

Good lookers Dominic Lau, Thomas Teh and Hannah Tan

Comperes were Dominic Lau looking very handsome and Hannah Tan, looking very beautiful and who could ask for more? Actually we could ask for Lewis Hamilton to show up and he did! Hannah and Dominic worked us up with the impending arrival of Lewis Hamilton, driver for Vodafone Mercedes McLaren and I scanned the spot where he might make a grand entrance. Perhaps by helicopter? Or driven in by one of the Mercedes sports car?

L1200671.JPG

Alas, Lewis Hamilton appeared on a huge giant screen! A recording! Saying how much he would love to join us but he had to sleep early cos he had to race tomorrow! I wanted to ask for my money back but since I did not pay there was nothing I could do so I concentrated on the scantily clad dancing girls instead who were brilliant eye candy!

One can never have too many dancing girl pictures so here you are;
