Since its opening on 22 February 2014, Shanghai Marriott Hotel Parkview, with its close vicinity to Daning Lingshi Park, majestic and unique style, all-round facilities and exceptional service, has been acclaimed by domestic and international guests. Man Ho Chinese Restaurant, one of the four distinctive restaurants at the hotel, is particularly popular with discerning diners. From the Jingdezhen red and white rolled dumpling-shaped ceramic ornaments to sophisticatedly decorated private dining rooms, the restaurant, designed by the world-leading design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates(HBA), impresses with its combination of magnificence and modernity, elegance and innovation.

The main hall of the restaurant has a dignified and elegant white background which is set off by coffee brown and emerald green elements, with an imposing crystal pendant lamp in the centre of the ceiling. In addition, there are eight private dining rooms symbolic of distinction, dignity and refined tastes.

The kitchen is headed by Executive Chef Chau Qi Fong from Hong Kong. Chef Chau has over 25 years of experience in international hotels, having served as executive chef in a number of five-star hotels. With superb culinary skills, especially creativity in Cantonese cuisine, in his career he has served many dignitaries around the world, among them former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Philippine Presidents, and Indian Princes.


 In addition to Cantonese dishes, Chef Chau also excels in all fashions of creative Chinese dishes. With exceptional grounding in culinary skills and an acute understanding of the very essence of Cantonese cuisine, he combines the characteristics of Cantonese and Shanghai cuisines to create a fascinating array of signature dishes. These are not only palatable to the tongue, but also delightful to the eye, each a work of art in their own right.

Man Ho Chinese Restaurant specializes in authentic Cantonese dishes and also offers classic Shanghai dishes to provide customers with an exclusive dining experience. It changes its menu every four months and always uses the freshest ingredients, ensuring that diners can enjoy dishes at their best.

The signature dishes at the restaurant are all skilfully created, such as Mixed Green Salad, Yellow Croaker Roll in Rice Wine Sauce and Yam with Blueberry Jam. The Stir-fried Diced Beef Tenderloin with Mushrooms in Black Pepper Sauce specially recommended by the chef, in particular, uses M9-grade Australian beef tenderloin, which, coupled with king trumpet mushroom, boasts a marvellously unique and indulging taste. Other seafood delicacies, such as the Pan-fried Scallops Seared with XO Sauce and Pan-fried Cod with Homemade Sauce, are also glowingly praised by diners both for their satisfying taste and artistic arrangement. 


Chef Chau uses traditional Cantonese culinary techniques to make the wide range of traditional homemade desserts offered at the restaurant, such as the Shrimp Dumplings, Crab Siew Mai, Black Truffle and Mushroom Dumplings, Fried Spring Roll Stuffed with Shredded Chicken, and Crispy Golden Sesame Ball with Melted Black Sesame Pasteall to indulge the diners’ taste-buds. 

The restaurant now offers the Business Set Lunch for four diners at the special price of RMB358 (from Monday to Friday). Cantonese desserts are only RMB18 each at lunch time.
