The cheapest ticket at Lady Gaga Artpop Ball concert in Dubai was RM 500 for standing room with the peasants which is quite far away from the stage. This is the General Admission ticket. The Golden Circle tickets allowed you to stand as near the stage as possible provided you come early at 6 pm when the gates open at Meydan Stadium. This cost RM 1,200!
Princess Dr Becky Leogardo wanted to buy the VVIP seats but they were all gone but luckily her son Roy managed to buy the private suite tickets at RM 2,500 each! That's RM 5,000 for the two of us. Roy made do with the General Admission ticket!
So thanks to Roy Leogardo his mother and I enjoyed lavish hospitality and champagne reception in Suite 312!
For RM 2,500 per person, I got to eat as much food as I liked from the buffet table, drink endlessly from the bar and enjoy a panoramic view of Lady Gaga cavorting below. True, I could not really see her lightning strike eye make-up ala Grateful Dead but the view from the third floor was fantastic.
Most important---we were cocooned inside airconditioned comfort! The temperature outside was 37 degree C and it was at night!
I stared at the plebeians below cramped like sardines and shuddered at the thought of body odours mingling together and someone's groins rubbing against your ass though mind you, many enjoy this sensation! This is why many like attending concerts when they can watch the stars' pimples on their laptops!
Anyway the heat was enervating and humidity was high, a combination that was hardly salubrious. But inside Suite 312, all was calm and cool and refreshing! Then again, it cost RM 2,500 per person!
We could watch Lady Gaga from the luxury of our air conditioned suite or go outside into the balcony where they were 2 rows of seats. Almost all went outside to watch Lady Gaga live though a few weaklings watched the live broadcast on TV screens.
No, Lady Gaga did not change naked on stage but when backstage for the costume shifts! So she was not arrested though she did announce at Dubai Airport she would respect local conventions and customs.
Still, she did not appear in a black abaya covering her body from head to toe but pranced and danced in her signature sexy outfits. It was definitely Lady Gaga with enough sex appeal but without the provocation to necessitate an arrest for breaching public decency!
She even thanked the audience in Arabic---"Shukran" and greeted all with "Maharna Dubai".
