AS KOTA BARU IS MY DARLING HOMETOWN, I AM PARTICULARLY PLEASED FIREFLY HAS RECOGNISED THE IMPORTANCE OF KB AS IT HAS LAUNCHED A DIRECT FLIGHT FROM KOTA BARU TO SINGAPORE!
No more tedious transits at KLIA and LCCT while waiting to change planes! An hour's flight can take up to 3 miserable hours due to transits and waiting in the airport. Now all Kelantanese can fly direct to the Lion City with no fuss and at an incredible price of RM 99 one way. Taking a bus (luxurious as it is) already costs RM 75 one way from KL to Singapore and even more from Kota Baru so Firefly's airfare is almost a giveaway!
Firefly flies every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. 4x weekly at the special promo rate of only RM 99 one-way!

Firefly brings early festive cheer to Kota Bharu
Kota Bharu – As Firefly gets ready to operate its first flight from Kota
Bharu to the city-state of Singapore, its staff took time to bring early
festive cheer to the people of Kota Bharu at a beautiful buka puasa dinner organised by Grand Riverview Hotel under the
Seikhlas Ikatan Satu Impian programme, in conjunction with Ramadhan and Hari
Raya Aidilfitri 2012.
The guest list comprised people aged six- to 83-years-old suggested by
Majlis Kanser Nasional (MAKNA) and Majlis
Daerah Kuala Krai Kelantan.
“No matter how busy we are, we must never forget to make time to engage
the communities that we do business with,” explains Azman Ahmad, Head of Sales
and Customer Experience. “And the opportunity to participate in this buka puasa came at a fantastic time when
we’re growing our presence in Kota Bharu further with the new Kota Bharu-Singapore
route and additional frequencies on the Kota Bharu-Johor Bahru and Kota
Bharu-Penang routes.”
At the buka puasa dinner,
Firefly gave each guest a gift pack comprising staple foods usually needed to
prepare for Hari Raya. The gift packs were purchased with funds generously
given by Firefly staff throughout Malaysia and Firefly Management.
Azman explains, “I’m still humbled at how quickly and generously the
staff gave to this worthy cause when they found out about it, so much so our
Chief Executive Officer Ignatius Ong pledged to match the funds collected
ringgit for ringgit! In the end, we managed to raise a total of RM6000 for this
event in the short timeframe of two weeks.”
To bring even greater excitement to the guests at the buka puasa, Firefly invited
singer-songwriter Imran Ajmain, and actor Fahrin Ahmad to take part in the
event. Their presence brought the guests much delight, which was evident from
the guests’ happy faces, young and old. Imran and Fahrin were generous with
their attention, patiently taking pictures with the guests and signing
autographs when asked.
How did both come to join Firefly at the buka puasa? Imran, a Singapore-born balladeer, explained “I was
intrigued by the prospect of a direct connection between Singapore and the east
coast of Malaysia and when Firefly invited me to join them in Kota Bharu, I
couldn’t resist the chance to sample its unique culture and meet some of its
people.”
Humble and down-to-earth, Fahrin is no stranger to taking time from his
busy schedule to benefit others: “When Firefly invited me to join them in this
special buka puasa in Kota Bharu, I
wanted to help them bring some festive cheer to Kota Bharu as well. My fans
have always been so supportive of my career and if I can do something to help
brighten their day I’d do my best to make it happen.”
In conjunction with the launch of the new Kota Bharu-Singapore route,
Firefly now offers an all-in one-way promo seat that starts from RM99 per
passenger. To start, Firefly will operate the route four times a week on
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday between Kota Bharu and Singapore.
Additionally, Firefly will increase its Kota Bharu-Johor Bahru and Kota
Bharu-Penang frequencies to daily flights to cater for the growing demand from
10 August 2012. The all-in one-way promo fare for these routes starts at RM59
per passenger; booking period ends 29 July 2012.
Purchases can be made from Firefly’s website (www.fireflyz.com.my), mobile application, airport and city ticketing
offices, call-centre and through travel agents. Travellers are encouraged to
take the opportunity to enjoy these promotional airfares and explore Firefly’s
exciting new route.
