1st runner-up Michelle Yin and 2nd runner-up Valerie Chua give the obligatory kiss to winner Jun Yong. If I was one of them and did not win, I would give Jun Yong a slap but these two were well behaved and well brought up.

Winners and losers! I never beat around the hypocritical bush!

HIGH DRAMA---JUN YONG'S CROWN FELL OFF! And landed on the floor! We were stunned as this had never happened before! I of course managed to take this picture of teh crown falling behind Jun's shoulder! Does this mean Heaven did not want Jun Yong to wear the crown? Or shall we blame Gabriella Robinson for not placing the crown securely on Jun's head?

All smiles again! So all well that ended well! Congratulations to President and owner of D'Touch the franchise owner of Miss Malaysia Tourism International and Miss Tourism International titles Datuk Danny Ooi, organising chairwoman Gabriella Robinson and Project Director Datin Sharmini Chor

THE NEW MISS MALAYSIA TOURISM INTERNATIONAL 2012/13 WAS CROWNED ON FRIDAY 13 JULY 2012 IN THE BALLROOM OF GRAND DORSETT HOTEL.

I love beauty contests and I speak on behalf of all men and women as it is always a pleasure to see lovely ladies vying to be the winner as Miss Malaysia or Miss whatever!

I was lucky and honoured to be asked by Gabriella Robinson to be one of 7 judges to select the new Miss Malaysia Tourism International.

The ravishingly beautiful Aileen Gabriella Robinson who is half white and half Chinese holds the record by being the first Malaysian to win the 2012/13 Miss Tourism International title last 31 December at Sunway Resort. I was also a judge then and I am so proud of her as she is the first to win this international title after 15 long years! Well, at least it proves the integrity of the pageant as no Malaysian had won despite being owned by a Malaysian Datuk Danny Ooi.

The finals for the  Miss Tourism International finals will be, as usual, on 31 December 2012 (provided the world did not end on 12/12/12)  at Sunway Resort, Spa and Hotel.

I love judging as I get to choose the cream of the crop and most importantly, I get the best view! We judges of course sat nearest to the stage so w could clearly see the behavior, pose, posture and facial expressions of the contestants.

The other discerning judges were veteran, evergreen singer Datuk DJ Dave, beauty queen Miss Malaysia Chinatown 1994 Anita Phang, Miss Malaysia Globe 1995 Anita Aziz, actor/director Hans Isaac, operations director of Grand Dorsett Alfred Paulsen and image consultant Teresa Chiew. The 2 emcees were TP Lim who is very de famous as radio and TV host who is also a lawyer and Weena Marcus who is Miss Malaysia Tourism 2009. She made a mistake by wearing dark, gloomy and funeral gown which made her look dowdy and insipid.

The VIPs were Deputy Minister of Information, Communications and Culture Senator Datuk Maglin Dennis D'Cruz who represented his boss the Minister of Information, Communication and Culture who could not attend at the last minute due to pressing matters and the president of PPP Datuk Kayveas.

The winner was Jun Yong Wan Jun, 20, 166cm and weighs 10 kg less than me at 52 kg and clocks in at 84-66-84 which means nothing to me as I am used to inches! But she is clever, charming and fun and I gave her near maximum marks for her Q & A which sealed the deal. She answered so well the entire
audience roared their approval and if she did not win, we judges would be quartered and hanged.

As it happened, Jun Yong won a slew of subsidiary titles, all 4 of them, including Miss MRA Radiant, Miss Beverly Hills Personality, Miss Loving Heart Grand Dorsett Hotel and Miss Best in Talent as she sang beautifully as part of the talent contest though all finalists who did not participate in the talent time stood an equal chance of winning the Miss Malaysia Tourism title.

The 5 finalists out of 17 were Balqish, Jun Yong, Valerie Chua, Jane Koo and Michelle Yin. Each was asked a same question 'How would you promote Malaysia?' except each had to pick a specific topic like Culture, Souvenir, Fruit, Food and Places.

Balqish gave a mediocre answer to 'Culture' which was so vague and indistinct I felt sad for her as she started so well when TP Lim asked if she was ready to answer and she replied 'Born ready!'!

Valerie Chua who was second runner-up picked 'Fruit' and declared she would promote guava to all and sunder. She was told by TP Lim not to push for durian which I think was very unfair and ridiculous of Lim to say that as durian is an ideal fruit to publicise to the West. Most Europeans cannot stand the smell of durian the way I swoon over the stench of cheese and Valerie could persuade foreigners to try durian since it is an acquired taste. Next time, no prodding or preventing finalists please!

Jane Koo selected Food and as expected, espoused Nasi Lemak. Either that or satay. Nothing wrong, politically correct.

Michelle Yin who I thought could also win the title picked 'Places' and answered extremely well when she said she would encouraged all visitors to Kuala Lumpur which has everything anyone wants. Very true, very true.

Jun Yong picked Souvenir and she gave a brilliant answer when she said Batek is the way to go. Not only is batek our national fabric, it expresses our creativity and artistry, she swore. And of course she cleverly mentioned Kraftangan who was one of the sponsors! Quite ingenious this part time teacher and I bet all the men in the ballroom would love to take lessons from her. Well, I have her phone number.... so make me an offer!

I am so gob-smacked impressed by the event organised by Gabriella Porductions International. This was her first event and everything went smooth as vaseline.

Couturier Keith Kee, Miss Tourism International 2012/13 Gabriella Robinson and fabulous blogger Kee Hua Chee wearing Keith Kee Kouture of course. Kee Hua Chee and Keith Kee are not directly related but are linked due to their immense talent!

The staging was professional and how she and mum Datin Sharmini Chor got Datuk DJ Dave to sing 2 songs on stage I don't know. They also managed to get Malaysia's National Cultural Dance Troupe to perform. This world class dancers performed recently at the King's birthday so it was a pleasure to see them again although they had a different repertoire.

The theme of the night was 'Colours of Malaysia' divided into Colours of Culture, Colours of Nature, Colours of Leisure, Colours of City and Colours of 1Malaysia as the finalists took to the stage.

RTM2 will broadcast the entire event on Tuesday 17 July 2012 at 10pm so make sure you tune in and look out for me!

I'm sympathetic to his wishes being winners as Miss Malaysia and as a reward I would suggest that you go to Bryce Canyon National Park the most beautiful place for a vacation.
