SOO SHEA PIN, FRANCHISE OWNER OF ANYA HINDMARCH, HOSTED A TRULY CHIC AND STYLISHLY ELEGANT LUNCHEON FOR FAVOURED FRIENDS IN THE PRIVATE SALOONS ON THE 7TH FLOOR OF KL HILTON.
It was a small, exclusive gathering of under a 100 mostly female guests as men look terrible carrying a Maude clutch bag. The event was in honour of the Maude, the internationally known clutch made famous by the late Princess Diana who used the Maud to cover her cleavage and portions of her boobs when she emerged from her limousine.
Princess Diana found the Maude the ideal bag, big enough to cover her breasts and small and dainty for a gala evening out. No point carrying a glam evening tote so tiny you can squeeze in only 1 lipstick and maybe not even a handphone. The Maude allows you to place up to 2 handphones and a camera plus the lipstick and housekeys!
The theme was 'Queen for a Day' in honour of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. Guests were encouraged to wear a tiara, sash, jewels, sceptre and pose with corgis (cut outs, not real animals to my annoyance as I generally love dogs more than humans except for those I have wild sex with and those who give me money).
The most creative poses would win a Maude with initials embroidered on it. Of course I won as I cannot think of any woman or man who can out-do and out-pose me so I should be getting my Maude anyday now but so far I have not heard from Soo Shea Pin who left for London 2 days after the lunch to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Many guests took the opportunity to enjoy themselves as Queen for a Day or more appropriately, Queen for a Minute as they had to return the accessories after the photo shoot. The guests also bought Maudes by the dozens since the bags were priced at RM 3,300 inclusive of initials.
