ENROUTE TO ANIMAL FARM, WE PASSED ROWS OF CHARMING COTTAGES HUGGING A CANAL SO PICTURESQUE I ALMOST BOUGHT ONE THERE AND THEN ON THE SPOT.
Those on one side of the road enjoy direct canal frontage as their lawns and gardens literally end by the canal. You can even swim in this communal canal in summer!
Many are on sale from 300,000 to 600,000 euros as times are bad and Holland is officially in recession. Some are second holiday homes and now is the best time to snap up one should you plan a relocation to Holland or use it as your holiday retreat.
Some even come with their own private drawbridge so once raised, no robbers can attack your little castle and no horny teenage son can sneak out or take the car!
