TODAY WE DROVE TO MAASMECHELEN IN BELGIUM TO GO SHOPPING AT MAASMECHELEN CHIC OUTLET VILLAGE FOR SOME RETAIL THERAPY.
Having visited many Chic Outlet Shopping Villages in Europe, I must say the Maasmechelen Village has the weirdest and most troublesome name but is the prettiest so far. The buildings are in mint condition and so pretty and stylish I wonder why no housing developer has thought of building a community based on Chic Outlet Shopping villages!
The flowers and plants added welcome colours to a grey, dreary day with downcast sky and on-off drizzle. I also like the sculptures and wooden sculptural outdoor chairs which gave a rather tropical air.
The day started with a cake cutting ceremony as it was also the birthday of Linda Analay the nanny of 3 year old Gloria and also make-up artist of Princess Dr Becky Leogardo.
Linda is 35 today and is still pretty and available so any eligible man can apply to me.
Then Michael Mantz drove us in Princess Becky's Mercedes-Benz SUV to Maasmechelen (each time I type I have to take a deep breath and count the number of e's) which sounds like Makcik.
The journey took 2 hours plus 25 minutes toilet break. However sad to say there were only 6 designer boutiques out of a hundred! The big names were Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Escada, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors and Laurel.
Other popular brands include Levi's, Nikem Calvin Klein, Desigual, Diesel, Faconnable, G Star, Lacoste, Pepe Jeans, Superdry, Tommy Hilfiger, Hackett, Swarovski, Fossil, Mexx, Kipling, Furla, Benetton, Ralph Lauren. Samsonite, Guess and Leonidas.
I did not buy anything as Versace Men was all black and grey and I was not planning to attend any funeral. I like colourful, bright and happy hues!
Princess Dr Becky Leogardo as usual bought shoes and clothes for her 3 kids and leopard print apparel from Dolce & Gabbana to match her new Louis Vuitton shoes she bought at Amsterdam.
Maasmechlen Chic Outlet Village is pretty as a postcard and purpose built to resemble a charming village. Each brand has its own separate, individual building which is unique and one of a kind so this designer village is totally different from shopping in a department store or gigantic mall like Pavilion or Suria KLCC. Of course the only snag is that it is semi-outdoor so when it rains you need a brolly to walk from one freestanding boutique to another
