It was a glittering evening of high fashion and style as the Malaysian Hairdressing Association’s Annual Gala Night celebrated the achievements of the national hairdressing scene over the past year. The theme was ‘Hall of Fame’ presented by prominent Malaysian hairstylists such as Alex Lim, Alex Wong, Lois Lee, Miko Au and Winnie Loo.

Nearly 900 guests from across Malaysia attended and applauded the 50 models in a stunning show choreographed by Betty Ann with popular event emcee Wong Chui Leng.

“MHA Annual Gala Night also gives the opportunity to hairdressers to show and share Malaysian hair culture, Malaysian skills, Malaysian technology and Malaysian talents.”

"The Malaysian Hairdressing Association (MHA) was founded eight years ago. It is getting to be increasingly active and important for the local hairdressing industry.

We’ve ridden an exciting wave of development and growth in 2013. These activities have included the MHA Committee Hair Show, the International Hairdressing Awards, the OMC Education Seminar, the Young Hairdresser Award, the MHA Annual Gala Night, the Launching of Salon Star-Rating Standard, the Launch of the MHA Hair Collection Book, the Training of the Worldskills Participant, the list goes on. We’re concentrating more intently on being the most active association in Malaysia. Raising the bar on hairdressing to be more professional is our mission.

So as we work each day building our hairdressing profession and business, we hope every hairdresser and those who trade in the hairdressing industry, will take to heart MHA’s true purpose.
