PADLOCKED AT THE BRIDGE OF LOVE IN PARIS, THE CITY OF LOVE, WITH THE KEY THROWN INTO THE RIVER SEINE!

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
THE PONT DES ARTS OF BRIDGE OF ARTS IS THE ONLY BRIDGE IN PARIS WHERE YOU CANNOT SEE THE RAILINGS OR BALUSTRADES. SURE THEY ARE THERE OR ELSE PEOPLE WOULD BE FALLING OFF THE BRIDGE DURING WINDY DAYS BUT NOW THE METAL RAILINGS ARE COMPLETELY COVERED WITH PADLOCKS WITH THE KEYS THROWN INTO THE RIVER SEINE!

If you dive into the riverbed of the Seine you will find God knows tens of thousands of keys together with car, car tyres, cans and cadavers probably!

The idea is that tourists should padlock a lock with their names written on it so they will be bound to return to Paris in the near future.

This is similar to throwing a coin into the Trevi fountain in Rome so you are sure to return to the Eternal City!

Rome's version is cheaper as a coin can be 10 sen, RM 1, 10 cents or 1 euro but a padlock costs at least 4 euros (RM 17)!

If you bring the key home to Malaysia then you will NEVER return to Paris so beware!

I wonder if this token of love will catch on in Kuala Lumpur but we do not have a bridge like this to speak of!

I saw padlocks with names of 2 guys or 2 girls so they must be gay or lesbian couples. Some locks have 3 or 4 names written on it so they must be having group sex but I am told you do not have to be physical lovers. You and your friend(s) can merely be in love with Paris and simply wish to return.

As a Philistine, I would have thought tying yourself to the plane tyre of Malaysia Airlines or Air France might be a better idea to ensure a flight to Paris but there you go.

Singing a song of love or is he singing the blues since I did not see many giving him money

 Padlocks galore!

3 to 4 euros per padlock! He looks very suspicious of me
These are the railings of the Arts Bridge in Paris but you cannot see the wires udnerneath!

The Bridge of Love in Paris is locked with locks!

 I love this! Read it!
Some graffiti artist did this! I bet the padlock owners must be pissed but they are probably unaware their locks have been defaced if they are back in their homelands!

 I love the red feather!

A family of 8 found an innovative way to hang their love so to speak!
Why not commission a portrait of your beloved on the Bridge of Love?

 Piggy-back love!
No more space left so the owners of these 3 locks left them on the railing!

Even the tiniest space and crack is used!
No more space on the bridge so the nearby fences are now being used!

From here the sides of the bridge simply look like they are painted gold!

 Plenty of space here!

Vendors do a roaring trade as most tourists don't bother bring their own locks from home!

My friend Cate Blanchett promoting new scent Si

Vendors line the banks of the Seine selling books, postcards, paintings, souvenirs and of course padlocks!
