Street of dreams is an epic story of the power of love and the power of dreams.
This is a story of unbridled emotion. A story of Italy; of Hollywood; and of
the world. Its classic cinematic style evokes both the grandeur of the golden
years of Hollywood, and the passion and emotion of Europe’s greatest cinema
icons. Scorcese’s campaign tells a tale of timeless glamour through its two
protagonists, Matthew McConaughey and Scarlett Johansson. United for the first
time in a Dolce&Gabbana Fragrance campaign, their intensity is unmistakable
as they come together on the streets of New York.
It is a celebration of passion, of
beauty, and of being unique.

personalities, eternally contemporary, naturally charming, and always at the
centre of attention. Fragrances with sensual sophistication and potent spirit

cast together seemed like the best way to celebrate this," says Stefano

“We asked Martin Scorsese to convey this uniqueness as he sees it.
We wanted it to be a deeply personal portrayal. And that's what it is: the film
has Scorsese written all over it: it's his New York, his story and his
signature sweeping camera movements,"

THE FRAGRANCES
The strength
and the uniqueness of The One fragrance come from contrast.
The rich Oriental Floral perfume opens
with a sparkling and modern interpretation of fresh top notes of zesty Bergamot
and Mandarin combined with juicy Lychee and Peach.
The journey to the heart of the
fragrance follows into the timeless scent of the Madonna Lily with its
voluptuous intensity and enveloping femininity.
The fragrance finally unfolds to
reveal a deep and sensual base of rich Vanilla and resinous Ambery notes
combined with smooth Musky notes to leave a lingering presence.
The One for Men is a concentrate of elegance and sensuality: a
fragrance that is classic and modern, vibrant and engaging.
An Oriental Spicy perfume which is
developed from the harmony of Tobacco notes and refined spices.
The vibrant elegance of the top notes
comes from the mouthwatering combination of Grapefruit, Coriander and Basil.
Spicy and warm notes of Cardamom and Ginger drive the strong sensual signature,
which over time yields to the authentic masculinity of the deep dry down of
Tobacco and Ambery notes along with Cedarwood.
THE FRAGRANCE FACES
Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey are the ultimate
Hollywood icons – admired for their innate talent and captivating on-screen
presence alike.
“Street of Dreams” sees them revisit
the inimitable characters they have created in their roles as The One
and The
One for Men testimonials. Scarlett, the beautiful young star looking
"for just one thing, love"; Matthew, the magnetic screen icon, with a
trail of paparazzi in his wake.
Now, for the first time, the campaign
sees the lives of these two characters collide, revealing a tantalising glimpse
of their stories that leaves us wondering, and wanting for more.
It was the first time Scarlett
Johansson had worked with Scorsese. Matthew, on the other hand, was directed by
the him in the upcoming film “The Wolf of Wall Street”.

THE FILM
Street of Dreams sets the screen alight with a tale of passion past and
present. It is a story of a chance reunion of two ex-lovers who, after years
apart to pursue their own dreams , see their paths meet again
after they have both become great movie stars. Their story begins against the
atmospheric backdrop of a New York on a Sunday morning. The stark emptiness of
the scene heightens the intimacy of the moment, as the protagonists find
themselves swept by a force of nostalgia to the rooftop building which saw
their love blossom.
Martin Scorsese paints a
picture of love, memory and emotions through the distinctive setting of New
York: a playground for romantics the world over, with its signature skyline and
rooftops where every day, somebody’s dreams are coming true.
“I love those streets, they're part of me because that's where I
grew up," says Scorsese.
Scorsese’s creative vision is infused
in every detail, every word, every move the actors make, as Mina follows their
every step singing "Il cielo in una
stanza".
This elegantly understated screenplay
is further brought to life with the impeccable, black and white grace of the
cinematography of Rodrigo Prieto.
Street of Dreams represents the debut
film project between Domenico Dolce , Stefano Gabbana and Martin Scorcese . The natural ease of their collaboration was
felt instantly, with their backgrounds helping to forge a connection: the Dolce
and Scorsese families were both originally from Polizzi Generosa, a small
village in Sicily's Madonie hills, near Palermo.
THE PRINT ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
The corresponding new print advertising
campaign for The One and The One for Men was set in timeless
locations from New York to Hollywood and Cinecitta', brought to life through the
expert eye of eminent photographer Peter
Lindbergh and again starring
Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey.
Lindbergh, a master of black and
white imagery and long-standing photographer for leading publications around
the world, recreated a film set on a secluded beach on the outskirts of Los
Angeles. In an
unmistakable case of art imitating life, the campaign sees Scarlett and Matthew
backstage, surrounded by spotlights, recreating a scene that has striking
parallel to their own lives.
“The shots taken for the campaign bring out the natural ease and
beauty of the actors in a way that only Peter Lindbergh can,” say Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
The creative conjures images of Federico
Fellini, his White Sheiks, the bon vivants of La Dolce Vita and its enchanting
leading ladies. It is a tribute to the golden
years of Italian cinema, with Scarlett and Matthew evoking 21st century
incarnations of Sophia Loren and Marcello Mastroianni. Yesterday has become today (and tomorrow):
they are The Ones.
