Her Majesty is a close friend of Datuk Tracy Ong who is the personal jeweller to Royalty who is also a friend of the former Queen the reigning Sultanah of Trengganu. The Permaisuri Agong is originally from Bagan Serai, Perak though she has long adopted Kedah as her home when she married His Majesty the King of Malaysia and Sultan of Kedah on Christmas Day in 1975. Then as second wife of the Sultan of Kedah she was known as Che Puan Kedah and was elevated to Sultanah on 9 January 2004 upon the passing away of Sultanah Bahiyah the previous Sultanah and first wife of Sultan Abdul Halim of Kedah.

Datuk Tracy Ong has known Her Majesty for over a decade and this is the third royal Chinese New Year visit to Datuk Tracy Ong's mansion for the last 3 years since Sultanah Haminah Hamidun ascended the throne of Malaysia in 2011.
