MARCUS REOPENS FOLLOWING
EXSTENSIVE REFURBISHMENT
AT THE BERKELEY, LONDON
Marcus (formerly Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley) has reopened
following a stunning refurbishment, bringing a relaxed formality to the
dining experience in a new, elegant and contemporary setting.
The Design: In January 2014 the former Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley closed its doors and the last three months have seen a skilled team of craftsmen transform the familiar claret dining room into a stunning, new contemporary dining space. The new interiors, executed by Robert Angell Design International, masterfully reflect and compliment the modern, fresh approach that Marcus Wareing has taken with the re-launch of his eponymous, two Michelin starred Knightsbridge restaurant.
The Marcus ‘look’ exudes a
cool sophistication; a carefully considered blend of timeless elegance,
clean, classical lines and a refined colour palette, provide the backdrop for
Marcus and his team to thrill and enchant their guests.
The Food: Marcus remains at the helm, working closely with Head Chef Mark Froydenlund. The essence of the food has been retained, but updated to allow greater choice and flexibility. Marcus continues to deliver modern European cooking with a seasonal British influence using the highest quality produce to create imaginative dishes with exacting execution. The focus is on flavour with a variety of cooking techniques in use to make the most of every ingredient.
New to the menu is flexible lunchtime options with
individually priced dishes providing greater guest choice and the opportunity
to enjoy the food at Marcus in as little as 40 minutes. For those ordering
from the Lunch or A la Carte menus Marcus now offers a selection of
innovative Tasting plates to whet the appetite and allow for a more leisurely
experience, along with the option to pick and choose the number of courses.
The Service: Relaxed formality is the order of the day and is no more apparent than in the service, led by Restaurant Manager Daniel Greenock. Striking the perfect balance between being engaging, knowledgeable, passionate, attentive and unassuming. www.marcuswareing.com 0207 235 1200 / reservations@marcuswareing.com F: /marcuswareing T: @marcuswareing
