NOW BELMOND IS INVITING  YOU AS A PAYING GUEST TO EXPERIENCE PERU IN THE STYLE YOU ARE ACCUSTOMED! IN COMFORT, LUXURY AND SAFETY!

Belmond Invites Guests to ‘Discover Peru’ with Tailor-Made Offer

Exploring Peru has become even easier with the new ‘Discover Peru with Belmond’ offer, whereby guests booking three consecutive nights at one of Belmond’s five properties can enjoy a fourth night complimentary at a sister hotel. This offer is valid until 30th September 2014.

Since acquiring its first hotel in Peru 15 years ago, Belmond’s collection now encompasses five distinctivehotels and the world-famous Belmond Hiram Bingham train. From urban hubs to tranquil retreats, this offer allows guests to tailor-make their perfect Peruvian break.

Travellers can enjoy a city break in cosmopolitan Lima at the newly refurbished Belmond Miraflores Park before soaking up the culture in Cusco at Belmond Hotel Monasterio or Belmond Palacio Nazarenas; and then take the Belmond Hiram Bingham train to either Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel at Machu Picchu, or Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado, nestled in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

In Lima, the capital of Peru, guests can check-in at the luxurious Belmond Miraflores Park, set in the chic Miraflores district. The hotel has recently undergone a significant four-month renovation and has launched a new contemporary yet relaxed restaurant named Tragaluz where guests can enjoy innovative international cuisine with Peruvian, Mediterranean, and Asian flair. High-endboutiques and artisan craft shops are within walking distance as well as a variety ofmuseums, galleries, and archeological sites of interest.

Visitors can wind down with a sunset swim in the infinity-edged rooftop pool, boasting vistas of the Pacific Oceanand sip a pisco sour in the sophisticated new Belo Bar.

Originally an Inca palace, built in 1595 and later turned into the Seminary of San Antonio Abad by Spanish priests, Belmond Hotel Monasterio in Cusco stands as the result of faithful restoration of colonial Renaissance architecture. Stones around its entrance still bear the Spanish Arms escutcheon, while guest rooms are decorated in baroque fashion with magnificent antique paintings of saints in ornate gilded frames.

There is also a 300-year-old cedar tree in a cloistered courtyard. Preservation of the past is complimented by modern amenities, with a state-of-the–art system supplying enriched-oxygen directly into each suite, aiding guests in acclimatising to one of the highest-altitude cities in the world - a demonstration of Belmond’s five-star service.

Located on the same square is sister-hotel Belmond Palacio Nazarenas, a former palace and convent that recently emerged from years of restoration to become one of the city's most exclusive hotels. This urban retreat contrasts an ancient fountain at its heart with contemporary amenities including a fabulous spa, the city's first heated outdoor pool and stylish restaurants serving cutting-edge local cuisine.

The intimate hotel has just 55 suites, each enriched with oxygen and with its own private bar where guests can create drinks accented with fresh ingredients grown at the hotel.

Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is situated an incredible 50 metres from the famed Machu Picchu citadel.Only a stone throw away from the site, Belmond guests are able to explore the site before the crowds arrive. Nestled high in the Andes, above the Sacred Valley, the astonishing “Lost City” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven wonders of the modern world, and is perhaps the only Incan outpost to remain undiscovered by the Spanish conquistadores.

The hotel itself boasts ecologically-friendly rooms, and breathtaking views of the entire geography, which can be enjoyed over a meal made from produce from the gardens on one of the plot’s large terraces. A world-class spa is also on-site, offering natural treatments based on ancient Incan techniques.

No trip to Peru is complete without visiting the legendary Sacred Valley situated below Macchu Picchu, where guests can acclimatise in five-star comfort at Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado. For the culturally inclined, Belmond offers excursions into the towns of Ollantaytambo, one of the oldest continuously occupied settlements in the Americas, and Chinchero, a small Andean village located high up on windswept plains. While, for those looking for that extra-special experience, horse-riding in the hills andwhite-water rafting trips down the cascading Urubamba River are thrilling options, and can be organised for groups on a daily basis.

True to its surroundings, the property has been designed with natural materials and resembles an authentic Andean village. High-ceilinged duplex suites are a recommended upgrade, offering unparalleled luxury and panoramic views of the valley.

To add some extra magic to their trip, guests can choose to travel between Cusco and Machu Picchu on board the luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train, named after the famous American explorer who brought Machu Picchu to the world’s attention in 1911. This exciting journey is considered one of South America’s greatest train rides and includes a gourmet meal with a selection of regional and South American wines.

In the bar and observation car, an on-board band picks up the tempo with lively music. Decorated in the style of 1920s Pullman carriages, each of the train’s three cars has been furnished with polished wood and brass, and fitted with large comfortable armchairs – assuring a magical journey.
