AN OASIS BY THE BUND - CAPO IN SHANGHAI OPENS ITS HIDDEN SUMMER TERRACE TO THE PUBLIC

Capo unveils its terrace alongside three cocktail promotions

Italian Cookhouse Capo, located on Shanghai’s historic RockBund, is gearing up with the opening of up its formerly private hidden terrace to the public. Guests can now escape the bustling Shanghai streets to a little tree-lined oasis to relax with three brand new summer cocktails. Bar Manager Anup hand-crafts each cocktail with fresh seasonal ingredients and they are served up alongside some of Chef Enzo Carbone’s best Napolitano antipasti.

The star of Capo’s terrace cocktail menu is the oversized Strawberry & Kiwi Mojito. Anup combines fresh strawberries and kiwis, fragrant mint leaves and cane sugar into a sweet concoction, straining it before rum and fresh lime juice is squeezed over the top. This jumbo 1.5-liter cocktail (RMB 198) is ideal for sharing between a group of friends and can also be ordered individually (RMB 88).

Continuing on the summer strawberry theme, the Strawberry Sauvage includes a light gin-based cocktail with fresh strawberries, a pinch of cane sugar, fresh- squeezed lemon and topped with a generous pour of champagne (RMB 88). Both strawberry drinks are served with a rotating selection of antipasti such as fresh and crunchy bruschetta, mixed olives, or Capo’s Signature chopped steak tartar.

For the new Capo Bloody Summer cocktail, the traditional Bloody Mary recipe is tweaked  to create a more unusual and memorable drink . With infused vodka, clamato juice, Worcestershire sauce and cracked pepper, the cocktail is stirred, strained, then poured over ice and served with a crushed rock salt and garlic rim and fresh celery stalks.

The Capo Bloody Summer also boasts fresh lemon squeezed-in and a dab of fire oil to finish. The cocktail is served with a freshly shucked oyster and tuna and salmon sashimi straight from Capo’s Crudo Bar. Available individually for RMB 98 or in a jumbo size for four people at RMB 388.

Capo is also offering a Perrier Jouet Grand Brut Champagne Terrace Promotion. Guests can order a half-dozen freshly shucked oysters for just RMB 1,088, only available on the terrace.

Capo’s extensive cocktail list includes 20 classic cocktails tweaked with an Italian twist, available  outside on the terrace or inside at the Crudo Bar.

After drinks, guests can enjoy an al fresco dinner or move into the main dining area where Chef Enzo Carbone serves up fine cuts of hand-picked meat cooked in the hand-built artisanal twin brick ovens. Select from high quality steaks, succulent organic free-range chickens, imported Australian lamb racks, 12-hour slow-cooked pork ribs and even handmade pork fennel sausage.

Capo’s Terrace is open daily and is available for reservations and private bookings.

Capo is open daily – Sunday to Wednesday from 5:30pm - 1am, Thursday to Saturday from 5:30pm - 2am.

Capo is located at 5/F, Yifeng Galleria, 99 East Beijing Road, Shanghai, China.
