At no other time in the year is the gastronomic landscape of the country so alive with innovation as Festival restaurants try to outdo each other in friendly competition, raising the standards in doing so year on year.
As each of the Festival Master Chefs strutted on stage, the MC announced them in synch with the MIGF Red Hot Chefs TV ad, they struck a pose while media cameras flashed and the crowd looked on. Then, under a sea of confetti, with Dato’ Steve and Tunku Naquiyuddin on stage, the Festival was officially declared open.

Also making a special appearance was the spanking new Jaguar F-Type Coupe in jet black. The stunning vehicle, with a gently sloping roofline and sultry silhouette, was uncovered by Dato’ Steve immediately following the chefs’ gambit. A vision of automotive beauty, the car fit like a glove into the Theatre of Cuisines, alongside the gorgeous food on display.
