AT KUALA LUMPUR MAYOR’S TOURISM AWARDS 2014
SHANGRI-LA KUALA LUMPUR PROVES IT IS THE BEST HOTEL IN MALAYSIA AGAIN!

Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur was awarded two top Awards at the Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Tourism Awards 2014 in a presentation ceremony held last Thursday (19 June 2014) at the hotel.

Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur General Manager Manfred Weber received the Platinum Award for 5-Star Hotel for the hotel from Minister of Federal Territories Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Phesal Haji Taib presented Mr. Weber the Platinum Award for Fine Dining Restaurant for the hotel’s French restaurant, Lafite.

The occasion was graced by Her Majesty, the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah.

“We are very happy and honoured to win these awards.  They will encourage and spur us on to deliver the very best to our guests,” said Mr. Weber on receiving the two prestigious awards.

The Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Tourism Awards celebrates everyone in the Kuala Lumpur tourism industry who has strived to make the city the preferred international tourism destination.

The prestigious awards acknowledge, recognise and reward outstanding establishments and individuals who have achieved a level of service that meets world-class standards.

The Awards are aimed to drive Kuala Lumpur’s tourism industry to achieve its potential of more than RM24 billion.

A total of 32 Awards in 13 categories, which included Accommodation, Restaurant, Nightspot Tourist Attraction and Shopping Mall, among others, were presented in this second edition of the Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Tourism Awards.
