THE 84TH ACADEMY AWARD ON 28 FEBRUARY 2012 SAW THE USUAL PARADE OF STARS GLITTERING AND I MEAN GLITTERING AS IN GLOWERING, GLOWING AND GLISTENING, DRIPPING WITH DIAMONDS AND ALL MANNER OF BLING FROM PIAGET.
Actor Gary Oldman and wife Alexandra Edenborough holding hands in Piaget watches and rings as they arrived on the red carpet for the 84th Academy Awards on 26 February 2012 in Hollywood, California. I know these can be anyone's fingers but trust me, they belong to Gary and Alexandra!
Actress Janet McTeer arrived on the red carpet clad in Piaget ring, bracelet and diamond studded bag, enough to light up the 84th Academy Award
One of the world's most prestigious and reassuringly expensive jewellers and watchmakers, Piaget is always in the forefront when it comes to red carpet bling. Their watches are justly famous for both diamonds and technical knowhow and are always ready to be admired by the media and heaving masses.
At the Academy Awards on 28 February in Hollywood, some notable nominees and A-list actresses chose to bedeck themselves in Piaget jewels and watches. And here they are----
Actress Janet McTeer arriving at the Hollywood & Highland Centre on 26 Feb for the 84th Academy Award ceremony
Stefanie Sherk and actor Demain Bichir at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party hosted by Graydon Carter at Sunset Tower Hotel on 26 Feb 2012 in West Hollywood, Carlifornia, all decked in Piaget
Alexandra Edenborough and husband the actor Gary Oldman at the Academy Award at the Hollywood & Highland Centre on 26 Feb 2012 all dressed in Piaget bling
I would have worn matching necklace and to hell with being overdone as how can anyone have too many diamonds or be too rich be too gorgeous? Bare skin is a sin and should always be covered with kisses or jewels. Janet McTeer should have known better since she is not a superstar actress known throughout the world like Angelina Jolie or singer like Beyonce so she should glitter with diamonds if she cannot with stardust
Patricia Clarkson at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party on 26 Feb 2012 hosted by Graydon Carter at Sunset Tower Hotel; again this star did not wear necklace which is strange as her cleavage is nothing to shout about and she is not the youngest nor prettiest actress in town. I can hardly see her earrings and her bracelet is like a string. All I can see is her wrinkled, crow-feety neck which would have been eclipsed by any Piaget necklace.
Actress Rachel Harris looking like a million US dollars in this gown and Piaget bling but did Piaget run out of necklaces I wonder since all these stars are not wearing anything round the neck. If so, maybe Piaget should melt down all the necklaces and turn them into earrings. If the Vanity Fair Oscar Party is not reason enough to dazzle the peasants with expensive jewels, then all should turn up in tattered t-shirts and cheap jeans and donate the money to charity that would have gone into buying costly couture gowns and expensive jewels.
