THE 6TH NIGHT OF MERCEDES-BENZ STYLO FASHION GRAND PRIX WAS HELD AT THE POOL AND KYOTO LAB, PART OF NIHONKAN WHICH IS A MEMBERS' CLUB WITH SLOT MACHINES. THE CLUB WITH SLOT MACHINES WAS NOT PART OF STYLO IN CASE YOU THINK I WAS PLAYING THE ONE-ARM BANDITS WHILE WATCHING THE FASHION SHOWCASE. ANYWAY, BUDDHA AND JESUS HAVE INSTRUCTED ME MY FORTUNE IS NOT TO BE MADE FROM GAMBLING WHICH IS A BOMBSHELL AS I DO LIKE VISITING CASINOS!
Still, the gods have revealed I will be rich and famous through other means. So far I am poor and famous but at least that is 50% achieved and I have the other part to look forward to.
The shows by Matilda Low and Ellie Lim were fantastic as they used ordinary materials and stuff found everywhere to transform them into wearable works of art. Of course it would be nicer if both girls had worn something made from recycled materials instead of deadly dull, normal clothes made from synthetics and looked suspiciously like they bought the dresses off some racks instead of stitching their baju themselves.
But I was impressed by their ingenuity and talent so here's a Carlsberg toast to these two!
This is my son Dedione Kee who has nothing to do with Stylo nor this article but he looks so cute I felt obliged to let the whole world admire him, the darling!
THE SPECTACULAR COLLECTION OF MATILDA LOW
Matilda Low's curtain raiser turned out to also be a hair-raiser! Note the skirt composed of masks and household flotsam and jetrsam
Getting in and out of a Kancil will pose a severe challenge.
The coronet on her head actually lit up from hidden batteries but I prefer the bigger golden crown too big even for my big brains
I love her skirt made of wigs and shoes with tassels which give them a pedigreed, horsey look
I will NEVER let my son Dedione Kee go near Matilda Low as I know what she will do to Dedione's fur!
There are Russian dolls stuffed neatly inside her sleeves and she wears a gigantic Tiffany, stained glass skirt
Stunning; note the hair extensions straggling down her back and her skirt reminds me of 'Raise the Red Lantern'
What a magnificent joke. The model is dressed like a harlequin and carries her own private cocoon or teepee
Rain or shine, this model's high and dry under her built-in brolly tent
The umbrellas were so seamlessly sewn they appeared as one entity
Matilda Low's high designs
Matilda Low wearing brand new, non-recyclable dress unlike her stunning creations
THE STUNNING COLLECTION OF ELLIE LIM
Look at what the outfit was made of!
This one was rather wearable
This one also
Nice and sassy
Little Ellie Lim reached her model's armpit
