Ximending is a young, hip and happening district in Taipei known as the Harajuku of Taipei or Shibuya of Taipei so you know what it means! Yes, it is similar to the uber-hip and happening trendy districts of Tokyo! Harajuke and Shibuya are two of Tokyo's most famous districts for the young and young at heart so expect plenty of adidas, nike, reebok and more adidas, my favourite!
The clothes are for the under 25 but of course anyone can wear them since there are also plenty of boutiques and chldren's stores. Ximending is home to Taiwan's fashion sub-culture and Japanese-flavoured culture as I saw many 'Harajuku Girls' type wandering around.
Ximending is the most important consumer district in western Wanhua district of Taipei and the famous Ximending Pedestrian Area is the first pedestrian area to be built in Taipei and the biggest in Taiwan.
Daniel posing with live musicians in the lobby of teh 5-star The Sherwood Hotel, 20 minutes by taxi to Ximending
What a luxurious touch to have 2 live musicians playing in the Sherwood hotel lobby! Truly an exclusive and extravagant touch! No wonder The Sherwood is one of Taipei's best hotels!
