This is unretouched as the night skies are super-starred!

LOH YU LING OF ASIA TO AFRICA SAFARIS AND VICTOR DIZON HOSTED A TALK ON THE THRILLS AND SPILLS OF AFRICA WITH GUEST SPEAKER PETER ALLISON WHO EVERYONE AGREED DID NOT RESEMBLE THE TYPICAL IMAGE OF A SAFARI GUIDE.

He was too handsome, clean cut and dishy!

Where were the scars and teethmarks of an adventure-riddled life in the heart of Africa?

His skin looked smooth and nice and high class while his complexion was better than most women's who attended his talk.

"Actually I have only been bitten by a puma in  America and a scorpion in Africa which bit my ass! And a tearaway piece of conveyor belt that ripped off my stomach skin!" grinned the dashing hero.

I asked him to show the marks on his tummy. He replied, "I don't scar easily as my skin heals fast so my stomach is fine and back to nromal."

What about the puma's teeth marks?

"All gone," Peter Allison answered.

However he declined to show his bum where the errant scorpion stung him.

"Read all about it in my book---Whatever You Do, Don't Run'. All the gory details are there!" he grinned.

Allocate RM 20,000 for a 12 -day, all-inclusive experience of a lifetime.

Guests arrived for cocktails before sitting down for a 45-minute talk by Peter. After the talk, many purchased Peter's books and have them signed.

Celebrity safari guide and author Peter Allison is one of southern Africa's best known safari guides. While known for stories of monkeys in underwear, mice taking malaria tablets and rescuing half dressed members of the British royal family, in this lecture he told a story of the real bush.  Taking as his theme the story of a lioness who mated with the wrong male and all the events that followed, he shows that animals' lives are as much a soap opera as those of humans, told with his trademark humour, poignancy and genuine love for his subjects.

As a safari guide in Botswana's Okavango Delta, Peter Allison like many others had the opportunity to observe many extraordinary animals, ranging from Africa's most famous such as elephants, hippos and leopards, to lesser known creatures like pangolins and aardwolves.  Mr Allison spent five years at Mombo Camp, located on an island in the very heart of the Okavango, and saw not only these animals but one of the most extraordinary series of events ever recorded on the delta, involving many different species.

By mating with the wrong male, a lioness changed the lives of thousands of animals, not just those of her own species, but leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and the various species they preyed upon.  It is extremely rare for such intricate interactions to be observable, but Mr Allison's long tenure in the area allowed him to observe and record the wildlife of Mombo in depth.  Adaptation is the key to survival in any environment and not just at a species level.  How lion prides and other predators coped with the fallout of this lion's actions is a fascinating tale made all the more vivid with a  stunning photographic accompaniment.

Australian born Peter Allison started his career as a safari guide in Africa in 1994.  He has worked in South Africa, principally at the Kruger National Park, Namibia, principally at the at Skeleton Coast, and Botswana, principally at the Okavango Delta.  He has written two books about his adventures, titled Whatever You Do, Don't Run: True Tales of a Safari Guide (a New York Timesbook of the year) and Don't Look Behind You: A Safari Guide's Encounters with Ravenous LionsStampeding Elephants and Lovesick Rhinos.  His most recent work  How To Walk A Puma was published in 2012 tells of  two years travel in some of South America's wilder places.
