LITTLE CHEFS MEET BIG CHEF’S FATHER’S DAY PROGRAM
13 children took part in the first day of the Little Chefs Meet Big
Chef’s Father’s Day program on Saturday, 15 June 2013 at Shangri-La Hotel,
Kuala Lumpur. The program, which is a special cooking program with their
Executive Chef, Rudolf Kunkel began with a fun-filled day and the participants
were seen ecstatic with the activities lined up for them.
The program started at 10am when the Little Chefs gathered at
Kelantan Room, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and were given their complete
chef attire. After a briefing session by Chef Kunkel, the Little Chefs were
taken to the pastry kitchen for their first activity.
There, the Little Chefs were thought on how to make bread that will
be used for the Father’s Day lunch. The Little Chefs also had fun learning on
how to make chocolate mousse for the lunch’s dessert.
The exciting day continued at the Main Kitchen, where Chef Kunkel
showed the Little Chefs how to make butter. This was accompanied with dancing
and music as the butter-making activity involved shaking a bottle of cream
until it turns into butter. After that, the Little Chefs were thought how to
make the Spatzle, which they got a taste of it as soon as it was cooked. Chef
Kunkel also showed the Little Chefs the steps to make the Father’s Day’s lunch
soup and also how to prepare the beef that will be served during lunch on the
next day. The first day ended with lunch at the Kelantan Room at 1.30pm
